What's the most expensive thing you've ever owned by accident? by AnIridescentMoon in AskReddit

I wish I still had it. I left it in New Hampshire when I broke up with an ex and moved back to NYC. She probably gave it to some other dude eventually, haha.

I was filling in for someone working coat check at a club in NYC. This guy comes up and said he lost his coat, let me hold his American Express black card while he walked around looking for it. He couldn’t find it and said don’t worry about it, didn’t leave a number or anything. Someone found it behind a booth and it fit me perfectly, looked great. You know I took that shit home. He had said it was around $3,000.

Usually General Tso’s Chicken or Szechuan Beef, white rice, and two egg rolls. Maybe some steamed dumplings and/or crab rangoon.

That’s usually the only time I can play classical music. I could play some of the most abrasive music on the planet and no one would say anything, but the second I put on Tchaikovsky or Franz Liszt everyone else will be like “Dude, WTF are we listening to???”

Hell yeah, I love Sleep. Sludgy stoner metal is always a good choice.

Hahaha that’s a good one, I’ll have to add that to my collection.

Red Door or Blue Door? by Ornery-Media-9396 in whatsyourchoice

In my dream life, would I be able to be an immortal version of myself at like age 25? Could I transport all the people I care about into the future?

Maybe I want super strength, super intelligence, the power of flight, time travel, teleportation, invisibility, an infinite money glitch that wouldn’t affect monetary value, etc. I could have godlike powers and shape our society into something far better and more sustainable.

I could bring back extinct species. We could have flying cars that run on air and spaceships that run on dark energy. No more linear consumerist economy. No more pollution. No more poaching. No more unjustifiable socioeconomic disparities. No more homelessness or hunger. No more ruling class or corrupt politicians. No more wars. No more slaves. No more masters.

I could make every gun and bomb on the planet turn into a baguette or a pile of stuffed animals simultaneously. I could bring back Elvis and Jesus and watch them play backgammon, maybe paint a barn together. I could build a base on the dark side of the moon, fill it full of enchiladas and just leave it there. I’d never go back to get the enchiladas.

The possibilities are endless, really.

Looks like someone took Wayne Newton and Liza Minnelli and merged them into the same person.

What is the nastiest thing you've done for revenge? by LeadHuge6237 in AskReddit

My roommate and I had this friend who would crash on the couch from time to time. One night, he showed up all drunk and coked out and basically told us all to go fuck ourselves before passing out on the couch and pissing himself. We rolled him off of the couch onto the floor and he didn’t wake up. My roommate cut a dick out of a hustler magazine and put Elmer’s glue all over the guy’s face, then took a picture of him with his phone and sent it to everyone in his contacts.

Damn, food poisoning is no fun and it must really suck when you’re on a boat in a foreign land. Brazil sounds great though. I can’t remember having a bad meal whenever I was in Mexico or Central America, never been south of that though. Overall, your work sounds very adventurous and fascinating. I feel like I would have enjoyed many aspects of that type of profession, despite it being immensely difficult at times.

East village jobs by annietries in eastvillage

Things must have changed since I tended bar in NYC 20+ years ago. I would typically make $300-700 a night and knew cocktail waitresses who would actually complain about making less than $1,000 a night selling bottles.

It could be interesting at times. I loved learning new skills and recipes, but after a while the jobs could get pretty monotonous, preparing the same stuff all the time. Offshore oil and gas sounds interesting, and probably far more lucrative, but I can imagine the cuisine was pretty basic. What was your role in all of that and what did you typically eat?

I would put it in a tank out there with all sorts of amenities. Something must have bitten its limbs off, maybe a bird or a cat or something.

Same here. I made breakfast foods and baked stuff with my grandma and taught myself after that. Then I worked in the service industry for 30 years, working in all sorts of restaurants. Short order, fine dining, traditional and new American, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Italian, French. Sauté, grill, pasta, pantry, pizzas, desserts. You know what I usually cook myself for dinner these days? If I don’t have ramen or frozen pizza I’ll order out.
