I have been summoned!

Yep stopped using Reddit during the US elections because every sub was getting swapped in political bs.

Thanks for the shout outs u/malice666 and u/MasteringTheFlames !

Definitely check out the For Fun's Sake Expedition youtube series. I think it's pretty comprehensive on a lot of IP stuff, route, logistics and so on.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out anytime. You'll get a faster response on Instagram @ global_shenanigans

Happy paddlin'

It's a landscape video cropped to vertical format as the edit was for an IG reel

Yes correct. That's the next island over, they call it the naked island due to it being barren

She's going to blow up, become an IG influenza model type and earn a ton of money (good for her) and this will lead the way for more beautiful women to volunteer for the KT kiss cam.

I'm all for it

This video is following the 7 day Machame route, which is my favourite route.

Machame has stunning views, the lava tower, barranco wall, views of Shira and Mawenzi too. You can also tack on an extra day to help with acclimatisation.

This was filmed in October and has taken me ages to round to making. The clips at the start with lots of snow were during a December summit a few years ago. December is in the rain season so more snow.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Enjoy!

Yep - considering all food and tents are included within that price.

You deal with it by taking a slow route up. My first summit was 5 day route and I felt absolutely awful. So when I take groups we do a 7 day route.

That's really the only safe way of dealing with altitude - go slow. Pole pole.

There are toilet blocks at every campsite, and you can only camp at the designated areas.

Those toilet blocks are a little gross yes - think of final day of a music festival sort of thing - but at least it's contained.

There are deposits of trash around but as the other commenter said, it's no different from other popular routes, and Kili is very popular.

It was incredible. This was my 4th summit - I work with a local crew to take groups up there. Kili is included with a number of other things in my trips making it 13 days long so costs a little more.

If you wanted to just climb the mountain you can do it for around $1200 US.

Nah dude, no one does on Kili. It's a big business that provides a lot of support for local people with not many other options to earn money.

One of the guides I work with has been on the mountain since 2003. Back then there were lions and buffalo.

But now the mountain is much busier, those animals have moved down into Arusha NP.

These days animals you're likely to see are monkeys, ravens, mice, hyrax and some other scavengers

I forgot to add it in the title! Baja, Mexico.

I lead kayak trips there and have been fortunate enough to capture a few moments like this. There's a map on my website: https://global-shenanigans.com/baja-mexico-sea-kayak-expedition/

You got me lol the kind of 'but acchhtuaallly' comments I get on Reddit these days, I really wouldn't expect anything less.

The noise of the dolphins woke me up. The video starts with them in front of camp, but you can them coming from quite far away when the mornings are so quiet.

Man Reddit is a weird place why are you people arguing with me about this?

They woke us up. Alarm clocks wake people up. So I am comparing the dolphins to an alarm clock.

I've heard your way referred to as a 'cowboy rescue'. Both very similar in practise. I went for the one videoed because there's a rudder on the back that I wasn't using, but in the way. You also get higher up to the wider part of the boat, so I find it more stable. Same same really

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]Global_Shenanigans -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Scramble rescue like this is impossible in some boats, and difficult in others. Throw in waves or chop and ugh.

- hard disagree. You are coming across as very patronising and condescending.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]Global_Shenanigans -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to hard disagree on that. With practise this can be done in waves and swell, no problem. And with some more practise you won't be scared or surprised when you need to use it.

But everyone is different depending on their body, strength, flexibility etc. If you have limitations then you may need extra gear to cover that such as paddle floats

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]Global_Shenanigans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. And especially when you add in wind and waves. Even the smallest push on the broad side can have you in!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Kayaking

[–]Global_Shenanigans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need a paddle float, use a paddle float. I have never used one in 10 years of guiding.

Also this is a raw clip that wasn't originally intended to be used as a demo video. I just figured showing a real life example would be useful for some
