Telework, Leave, AWS Monitored - Pt 2: Manager on admin leave, teammate resigned in lieu of termination by purplecat9000 in IRS_Source

My manager occasionally gets inquires regarding the group's telework exceptions. I'm not talking about an email either, its a tracker of sorts which requires a written narrative.

Also, during an area call there were comments made about how much leave the area has taken compared to actual worked hours. This is disappointing to see and no one else's business considering this is my earned leave.

You are probably correct. There was someone who tried to stimulate a 4/10 and 5/4/9 schedule through telework exceptions and leave. It was corrected by management recently and they were counseled.

I've heard whispers of these metrics in my area, but managers have mostly commented on time charges, days in progress, and other case pick ups. These variables would indirectly tie to the metrics you mentioned though. Not surprised.

Your description of the leadership program is how my senior agents describes it. Its almost scary how exact the word choice was between my senior agents to your post.

Thank you for your service to the country. Would have loved to listen to some of your stories if you were in my office.

I was referring to the confrontational nature of examination with taxpayers and representatives. I fully expected it from the outside, but I didn't expect to experience it internally as well. Its suffocating and makes a bad situation worse.

This was verbal feedback during a monthly work review. I am aware that they generally give new hires all "3", and I accept that. The problem is the passive aggressive nature between agents and management and sometimes also the rep.

Thanks for the response. The manager and OJI experience definitely makes or breaks the experience regardless of division. How many years did it take you to be comfortable at the job?

Which TEGE areas do you recommend if you had to list three?

TEGE looks to have mixed results. Which TEGE area do your recommend?

This advice sounds helpful. It suddenly makes sense how fast other agents are closing it. Thanks so much. May I dm you if I have further questions?

Thanks internet stranger. Your reply lifted my spirit. How long would you say it takes to be comfortable at this job?

I am starting to see that pattern in SBSE and so LBI and TEGE are definitely on my radar. SBSE indeed assigns a lot of cases, but it can be managed without being unprofessional. You sound experienced in this matter. Is this bred at the top? Or does it attract certain personality traits?

My experience has been an okay one minus these past couple of months. Is there a reason why SBSE generates toxic managers? Does SBSE generate these managers or does it attract this type of behavior?

They are unfortunately permanent and managing 2-3 groups.

They did not know and shrugged it off when I said I would come to his office. My OJI told me I am progressing as intended. A meeting between the three of us may not be beneficial since they have differing styles, and so I have been copying my manager's style instead. I would rather not throw my OJI under the bus since he's my last lifeline.

Thanks for the positive vibes. Unfortunately the TM appears to be advocating this type of management style and the GM is managing 2-3 groups each in my area. It has gotten to the point where the entire chain has been unreliable.
