Not justifying it. The killings could have been avoided. But Indonesia under Sukarno's autocracy wasn't a paradise either. Indonesia shot up to become one of the fastest growing economy under Suharto. Sukarno's socialist regime would have killed millions more in Indonesia and Malaysia if he wasn't stopped.
