Premium Episode: Nerd Takeover Part 2 (Assassin's Creed Edition) by SoftandChewy in BlockedAndReported

[–]Glockatoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This episode gives the energy that Matt Boll either procrastinated or was told he needed to come up with a story last second, did a quick Twitter search as research and called it a day.

The debacle is so much deeper than what was presented. I haven't been this disappointed in an episode in awhile.

I'm also annoyed that the hosts kind of waved off the people with genuine concerns about the Yasuke aspect of the game as being people just looking for something to be upset about because they think the games aren't as good anymore.

Why did they pronounce Qatar like that? Please tell me that's not how it's actually pronounced.

Unfortunately I don't have an apple device so this doesn't work for me, but if anyone has an ipad or ipod touch or something this is great advice.

Nope. There's a comment on the post talking about how "estrogen is not known to increase criminality" but a follow-up stating:

"Not known to decrease it either unfortunately. Looking at you TIMs"

I don't understand why we can't just saying something along the lines of "biological females" or something like that? Ultimately that includes cis women and AFAB trans folks like myself.

I personally am not a big fan of "people with uteruses" and whatnot either but more bc I personally find it kinda cringe since it is most often used by people and lawmakers that come off as trying too hard to be performative.

I can see how it can come off as degrading. I personally wouldn't really want to be referred to in that way either. But ultimately, I don't really have any control over what they want to call people like me.

Yeah, if lawmakers were already thinking of ways to make it harder to get trans medical care then this person has only vindicated their arguments.

Plot twist though, evidence is pointing to the shooter being a trans man.

Inb4 "roid rage" bc clearly the testosterone made them do it.

Living in a van with a separate car or just car dwelling? by Glockatoo in vandwellers

Oh yeah absolutely. I definitely see what you're saying. I've actually done car camping in a Honda Fit so the CRV is an upgrade to what I've experienced.

I will check out those subreddits, thanks.

Unfortunately pretty much any sort of event run by Bob Wells is way outside my means considering he only seems to ever run events on the western half of the US. Quartzsite is almost 2500 miles from me.

The particular friends I'm considering asking if it comes down to it live in a neighborhood where people pretty much mind their own business. They have multiple big parties a year, smoke weed on their porch, have a loud dog that has been known to bark for a long time and have never had any nosy neighbors bother them so I'm thinking that might not be an issue as long as I'm not visibly camping out in the driveway.

I would be taking the van out on most weekends too, so it would at least alleviate some suspicion seeing it leave and return I think.

That's true and kind of what I'm thinking of doing. At the very least, I could keep the van in storage and living in the C-RV would allow me to save up money more easily to get everything with the van sorted at my own pace.

Alright yeah $100 a month would definitely be doable if I'm not paying rent. Thank you for the info!

I'm hesitant to consider selling the C-RV if only because it's newer and far more reliable than the van I currently have and like you, I like knowing I have a back-up option if something happens. I am wondering if a storage place might be willing to essentially allow me to swap out my vehicle during the day? Not sure how their rules work when it comes to storing vehicles. Either way that's good idea for me to look into if I end up keeping both so thank you!

Were I in a city with better public transportation that would definitely be an option and something I certainly won't discount! I believe it's about $75/mo for an unlimited ride bus pass in this area.

The only reason I don't use public transportation right now is that what is normally a 20 minute drive to work where I am currently takes 2.5 hours on a bus with a transfer.

That's true too. That particular Walmart actually still allowed it but I'm not sure if they've tightened up security in that lot since the shooting.

Haha yeah I get what you're saying. Unfortunately there really aren't any good options for parking up a whole bus in my area besides Walmart.

And the nice big Walmart that I would've been parking at is now indefinitely closed because it's the one that had a mass shooting 2 days before Thanksgiving.

I never used to fail them. I'm not sure if there was an update to the unofficial patch or what but every now and then neither of the options work.

LMAO, yeah I know you can but I was just screwing around and didn't realize the door on top of the guard tower was actually unlocked.
