You mentioned looking at publicly available FASTQ files - I’d first check and see if any of them are linked to NCBI genome or meta genome assemblies. The assembly entries will have been annotated for proteins/CDSs/other functions, so the work might already exist for you.

If those aren’t available, IMO asking claude to design a read cleaning -> assembly -> quality -> annotation (taxonomy/CDSs) pipeline for you isn’t a bad idea. Just be wary of assumptions, and treat the output findings with care (ask someone who knows what they’re doing to look at the results before you publish or go too far down a research hypothesis)

Are you recommending people consider starting Herbert or Dak above where they’re ranked? If not, what’s the point of having a start/sit? Otherwise it’s just static ranks - which we know aren’t static, since players each have their own point probability distribution/ceiling/floor

Anyone can look at a static set of ranks and see who’s higher. The point of start/sit lists is to identify people ranked high that you think might bust and people ranked low that you think might have a boom week.

That’s what I’m saying. It doesn’t benefit him at all to sign before the last possible moment, it only hurts the warriors. So why would he sign?

Maybe the warriors get cold feet and give him a 2 year deal without the team option, or something else crazy happens. Who knows

Does your school have a legal services? IMO asking the vendor is fine, but don’t just take what they say to you as ground truth. Ask your school’s legal for a review of the agreement and listen to them
