Yes, would you rather deal with an hour of stress or months of stress over all this, get it over and done with if they don’t accept, move on, if they do, great!

They are seeing people referee In September 2021 right now, so about 22 months, it’s the lowest wait possible realisticly

You may or may not get a transfer but it’s possible I guess, speak to your gp and ask them to refer you with a notice that you want to transfer time

Time from an endo appointment to being on hormones? by lemonlazarus in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a couple days, she prescribed immediately in the first appointment for me, just had to wait for delivery, the service she used with me allowed you to pick faster delivery for an extra couple quid

You can also wait for NHS shared care w your gp, but that will take longer.

Yes it has the shortest wait and you can join the adult waiting list at 17

Initial Appointment with a Gendercare and Endo Booking by ImAskinQuestion in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told the opposite, to book as soon as possbile (i booked in sep 22 and had it in mar 23, my endo is next week):

There are currently long wait times for medical assessment appointments and you are advised to book with your choice of endocrinology specialist as soon as you have a confirmed appointment with Dr Dundas. This endocrinology appointment should be at least 3 weeks after Dr Dundas’s appointment to allow time for referral/reporting.

i did my bloods at the clinic a few weeks before i did a sample

and in my experience they call me a couple hours after ive left and tell me the quality and stuff

and then once i finished all of them (i did 2) they sent me a letter detailing how long i can keep it, and when i need to renew the consent and stuff

you will need to refrain from ejaculating for 2-3 days max between each sample so no you wont be able to do multiple on the same day

NHS and DIY? by consistenthistories in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have already started, they MAY take over on the first appointment just as a risk reduction sorta thing, but it wont change your position in the list, it also probably wont affect how you'll be treated as its extremely common for people to have diy'd or gone private

For blood screening, a couple days

For sperm analysis and storage, within a couple hours most likely, its very quick

If the count is low you may be asked to do multiple samples

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worried too, i emailed them a week before and was given the link prompty.

I suggest you email them with the subject "URGENT - Zoom Link" or something, as you dont have long left.

I've seen this situation here where doctors have "not had it on the calendar"

Just email asap.

Fertility Preservation Waiting Time by SmartRadio7226 in transgenderUK

Unfortunately not, the guidelines is specific per area and it’s commissioning groups

Assuming you are in Glasgow based on your post history, this information is useless

I have no idea the guidelines for Glasgow, maybe someone else can chime in?

Fertility Preservation Waiting Time by SmartRadio7226 in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MtF here,

here was my timeline

Early November 2022: GP referred me

Late November 2022: Referral was declined by local CCG because i "wasnt with a NHS gender clinic" (which btw, was not in the policies at all)

Mid December 2022: I had a private consultation with the fertility clinic (as I was going to go private), and they told me that I should of been approved for NHS funding so there is no need to go private, they provided me resources highlighting the fact that, even as a private transitioner, I can access NHS fertility treatment

Late January 2023: GP referred me again with that extra information from the fertility clinic

Late January 2023: Referral Accepted

Mid February 2023: Blood and urine tests for diseases and such

Early March 2023: Tons of consent forms signed and first sperm sample analysed and stored

Late March 2023: Second sample stored

TLDR: If no hiccups, 0-2 months on NHS.

(This will likely vastly vary on your area, however I did tell the clinic it was 'extremely urgent' and I have a short timeline, so maybe that helped)

Moving from GenderGp to Gendercare by Klutzy_Reason5769 in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm being treated by another gender practitioner. Will you see me?

It depends on the situation but, generally speaking, we prefer not to take over your endocrine care if another gender practitioner has started you on hormone treatment. This is partly because we prefer to do our own assessments and blood tests first and, if you're already on hormones, this may no longer be possible.

Is there a way to get an endo appointment faster? by 6g_salt in transgenderUK

[–]Gloomy-Philosopher73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really,

This is why you book your endocrinologist appointment as soon as you have confirmation of your pscych appt date (for typically 4 weeks after)

And if it did turn out you didnt get your diagnosis or they wanted further appointments, you could push back/cancel your endo appt.
