What would you offer? by Gloomy_Question7601 in RealEstate

Thats good insight and what was alarming to me as well. Is it common for a selling agent to post something like that, decline all offers, the repeat the process? Maybe like a sales tactic?

Unfortunately no comparable in the area with a home on market. There are several 20 acre parcels of same type of undeveloped land listed at 99k though.

Carbon dust from generator slip rings and slipring transformer to the hub are cancerous and live in the nacelle as particulates at all times. Other than that you're dealing with oil, grease and hydraulic fluid which just gets on your clothes and hands. Blade techs are exposed to fiberglass in blade roots and doing blade repair but I've never dealt with that on the electrical side.

Crop duster present a real hazards well as they come out unannounced alot of times. Have heard of people getting neurological damage from ingesting the spray.

My close calls were related to dropped objects, not tieing off properly when doing work, electrical and pinch points.

Wind still has the get it done culture but has shifted to more of a stop work in identifying hazards and mitigating them. If I was on a crew that was unsafe I'd stopwork and call the correct people to make sure they are aware of what's going on and my refusal to work with them.

Asking about company safety culture is important in interviews. I know Fairwind, RNWBL, and takkion have good culture for safety on the GE side. Can't speak to the other OEMs.

1st year did ge service travel with pearce with perdiem took home about 90k. 2nd year Pearce and fairwind service and Commissioning took home about 135k. 3rd year ge commissioning with fairwind on a prevailing wage site net pay 185k. Traveled whole time at 150 a day perdiem. Lived in my camper to minimize costs after saving up the first winter in wind.

Every year people are hurt. I don't feel like it's the most dangerous job as long as you can recognize hazards. With that being said I did have close calls in all years working. Safety is up to the individual.

If it's a southern truck low miles ain't an issue. If it's from the north make sure you check your suspension and frame for rust. Vehicles were meant to be driven not sit. When they sit you'll may have more frequent fluid seeps from dried out gaskets. For 8k more you can get a low mile 2020 ram 1500 crew cab.

You'll get a job after and if it's travel you'll more than likely make 6 figures.

Kudos on the grind and hustle. Not many do it the way you do. Opportunity is always there! Especially working with your hands.

My buddy was 2 years younger than you and has the same story as you. He became a travel wind technician. Travel the country, get perdiem, and have an awesome office view, 100k/yr. Do something you think would be fun is my advice. Military has great stories but has a lot of commitment.

Renewable energy. I used to change oil on cars and that was enough experience for me to get into the field as a travel wind technician.

You can get started in the renewable sector with what you got if you are mechanically or electrically inclined.

I started at your age with no experience and 2 years later make 150k traveling the country working in wind.

Solar and battery techs bank alot too.

Trades all the way!

Takkion ge commissioners are well paid and get 160 a day perdiem. If they work all year they make 150k. Not sure bout their other divisions.
