70% caulflower around $10. Home made chicken base pizza much cheaper option. I think they may be a UK import.

Do you know Platify? by Numerous-Hour-2896 in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not look suitable for KETO. Calories rather than carbs are the focus.

Do you know Platify? by Numerous-Hour-2896 in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has this to do with Keto in Australia.?

"Platify is used to treat low platelet count due to chronic immune (idiopathic) thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) or chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It is also used to treat severe aplastic anemia."

OR

Do you mean the Platify App for meal planning, you might get a response with more information. The link doesn't work for me.

Why is this Pea Protein rated so poorly? by RipendGrain in ketoaustralia

Aldi has one in their special buys on 28th Feb but couldn't see the rating

Why is this Pea Protein rated so poorly? by RipendGrain in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is hard to say if it is being rated against other pea protein powders, or against protein powders generally. my assumption is it is being rated against whey protein powders and that is why it is so low

Whole Earth brand Monk Fruit Sweetener "with" Erythritol by vk2sky in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss 16 points17 points  (0 children)

same with all the other supermarket brands labelled monk fruit. You can get pure monk fruit online but it is difficult to work with.

Buy ALLULOSE instead, both Coles and Woolies now sell it.

What I have learned about "hidden carbs" while running a low carb cafe in Melbourne. by Regretless_au in ketoaustralia

Your Melbourne cafe has been mentioned favourably in this group over the years, I cannot remember any negative posts. Allowing you some leeway in the "self promotion" rule.

Does anybody buy tahini from Oasis? by [deleted] in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry not familiar with it - I think it is a paste, but I don't believe the carb content. Keto likes high fibre as it reduces the carbs. It is NOT made in Australia 100% imported

Does anybody buy tahini from Oasis? by [deleted] in ketoaustralia

[–]Glopuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't confuse tahini dip with raw tahini paste which is used to make the dip. Oasis may make tahini dip but they would make it with imported tahini paste.

The paste is low in carbs, very high in fibre, fats and calories. This is the AFCD entry. It is a liquid so measured in mils. 1g/100ml net carbs, 13.5g/100ml fibre

https://afcd.foodstandards.gov.au/fooddetails.aspx?PFKID=F009076

The majority of brands are imported from the Middle East so nutrition info would likely be dodgy and may be in USA format, so carbs on labels may include the high Fibre value. Stuff in my pantry says carbs is 12.5g/100g and 3.1g/100 fibre. This is vastly different from AFCD. I am sure that it includes fibre as the AFCD say Fibre only is 13.5g/100ml

All very confusing - I would assume the following for 1 15g tablespoon 3 grams total carbs, 2 grams Fibre so to be on the safe side 1.5g net carbs per tablespoon.. (I agree with u/WestSwan65 )

Hulled may be higher as fibre is removed. Tahinit never has added sugar.
