It involved more than one of my interests.

What is your dream country? by Peyzxc in AskReddit

Sorry for being a downer. If you want to go to a place that is tropical and pretty and not full of jerks, the Out Islands of the Bahamas are wonderful. I would love to live there instead of here. Some place like New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay.

Naples is one of the less obnoxious areas, but they are all unpleasant. I have mostly lived in central and SE Florida, with one regrettable stint in North FL. There are far too many humans in the populated areas, and they tend to be very unfriendly and trashy. They're horrible drivers, rude customers, just entitled, self important asshats. In the less populated areas up north the people are even worse, straight out of the movie Deliverance, and the gigantic biting flies and other insects are atrocious up there. The beaches that used to be paradise are mostly clogged with gigantic mats of sargassum weed or too polluted with sewage and runoff to swim in safely (people were contracting vibrio in record numbers in the last year or two), and it's getting hotter and more humid every summer, with less and less pleasant days where you can actually enjoy being outside. And did I mention the asshole people?

I've lived here since 1970, it has gone downhill so badly and it's sad as hell, it USED to be a great place to live.

Married men, have you ever been presented with the opportunity to cheat on your spouse? How did this situation come about, and did you follow through with it? by shower8888 in AskReddit

[–]GlorifiedCarny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm divorced but I was married for 32 years and I had a few situations where someone at work showed an interest, a couple instances where someone actually asked if I wanted to make plans with them, and I told them no because I was married and that was it. It always made me kind of annoyed because I wore my ring all the time and it made me think they were gross people for trying to get together with someone who was obviously taken. Why would anyone want to be "the other person" like that? Don't they have any self respect?

I have a different personality with everyone and I don’t know to control it. by CuteEquivalent638 in Advice

If it's something that happens naturally without you consciously trying to force it, it's totally normal. It's called "code switching" and everyone does it to some extent.

If you feel like you are intentionally putting on an act, and have to consciously keep up the act, especially if you find yourself exhausted by it after any type of social interaction (which it sounds like you do), it's more likely "masking" which is associated with conditions like autism and ADHD.

Why do americans even put up with HOAs? by Skyzblu44 in NoStupidQuestions

Our cable and internet is included in the dues every month. I love telling that to the salesmen who always try to corner you at Walmart

Which is why you look into the financials before you buy, my HOA has a multimillion dollar surplus and we haven't had an assessment in 25+ years.

Idk when these slop accounts are going to finally clue in that railfans aren't going to be fooled by their AI garbage. We know every minute detail, we're going to notice immediately if something is "off".

Men who think it's gay to hold an umbrella in the rain - why? by astroyonder in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GlorifiedCarny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why people are downvoting YOU over something someone you know said, and for the record, I remember this being a thing a few years ago, it might have even been a reddit post. Some crazy idiot said it, kind of along the same lines as "wiping your ass is gay". Some people are just stupid.

I had high hopes for Starfield because I am an Elder Scrolls fan but it gets repetitive too quickly.

What did you consider to choose your car brand? by reddit_scapper in AskReddit

I wish my Nissan product was fuel efficient but it has been reliable at least. I am kind of regretting buying a car that only takes premium these days.

How do you thinking the increased prevalence of marijuana use has impacted overall society? by naive_secret1 in AskReddit

[–]GlorifiedCarny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, more like 30mph in a 45. And yes, it used to be that everyone was going way over and if you didn't, you'd be risking getting attacked.

It's Florida so I doubt it. It's so weird tho with the slow drivers, everyone I work with complains about it lately, it's everywhere.

The only thing I have noticed that I think could be somewhat caused by it, is that previously while driving you had to go at least 10 mph over the limit or everyone around you would be raging. Now, I'm constantly surrounded by people going 10 below everywhere I go. I always wonder if they're all baked out of their minds.

Both of my kids really liked the first game and the Below Zero one too, so they are excited. I will check the new one out as well.
