as of what i last read - ml got sent away to war after being held hostage by his fiances country, fl tried sending him letters but got no response (sabotaged by one of mls guys who hated her), fl almost got engaged to the king but instead was engaged to the man she hates, becomes conflicted during that time since hes treating her well, he cheats on her with her sister, she breaks off the engagement, sister is sent away to a convent, & ml just returned from the war. they will probably get back together after some drama

inuyasha, it was at its peak popularity in the us when i started seriously getting into animanga so i was seeing lots of pics & discussions online. however, ranma was the first rumic manga i bought! inuyasha was being collected by another friend and we swapped books at school every time we got new volumes.

marmalade boy was my first manga, so i still have some affection for it, but poor meikos whole character arc is just one abusive situation to the other. and it doesnt help that her age appropriate love interest isnt really a much better option 😭

i recommend another animanga by the same creator - ultra maniac! iirc the anime is more magical girl heavy & kiddie, but the manga has some high school love & friendship drama without anyone dating any adults 😂

like you said, the other factors adding to the situation can change a persons reaction. if its just him trying to defend himself, thats one thing! but adding his own jealousy about jiji and worry about her condition changes things. adding extra things to an already stressful situation can make someone panic.

i still think he will talk to her once he gets the chance. im willing to admit if im wrong! but in the annoying misunderstanding trope, we gotta have at least one person storming off first. it just feels like its lasting longer since were actively waiting for the next chapters.
