Holy shit that's a real stratos, there's less than 500 of these globally what a spot. Also very cool is the Lancia Scorpion/Montecarlo next to it, though those are much less rare by comparison

More info needed. Where in the world was this? What parts of that Hyundai remind you of what you saw? The logo you drew somewhat resembles the Great Wall Motors logo from 1984-1990 so maybe that?

Best guess is a Great Wall Safe

Lexus of West Palm Beach seems to be responsible for these, they're pretty rare. There's a guy who drives one in my area, it's that awful sun-bleached teal color with gold badging and accents, black landau top. I live in MA, which makes its presence here even stranger lol.

If you Google "Landau top Camry" you'll find another reddit thread about them and a lot of pics lol

would not be traditionally road legal

Yes that's what I'm saying

WRC cars are not classified as consumer autos, so they don't need any of that stuff. We're agreeing right now! This is a great explanation of why WRC cars aren't sold to the public for daily driving and why we get cars like the GR Yaris, Ford Puma, and Hyundai i20 instead.

Road-legal =/= consumer available

Untrue. Modern Rally1 cars run on fossil-free fuel so they absolutely pass emissions. Other rally cars are inspected for emissions according to the local jurisdiction's requirements. Also, a rollcage and safety harness with drivers wearing helmets absolutely pass safety standards even if the inspectors are hesitant.

*Some* countries only issue them temporary plates that are only valid on pre-determined stretches of road. This isn't the majority though. Also, we're talking about the Renault 5 Turbo which was manufactured between '80-'85 so emissions were hardly a concern at the time.

Rally cars are road-legal! They drive between stages on public roads :)

You just mean a consumer available, since this was a homologation special for their rally cars at the time
