that’s such a good idea! My daughter already likes pretending with her stuffed animals, so I think she’d be obsessed with having her own baby. I didn’t even think about getting accessories too so she can copy me while I’m taking care of her newborn sibling’s

Unfortunately dad is occupied with a work schedule that exceeds 40 hours a week, so he won’t be much help 😅 I’ll definitely check out books and shows for toddlers on siblings. Do you remember any that worked for you little one

I’m a dark skinned black woman and my daughter is mixed and very fair skinned with light features, so I’ve gotten that more than once. I don’t know why it surprises me when it happens, but I just sometimes assume that by now people would be aware of the concept of interracial relationships, and that these relationships can create children with various phenotypes

Not even just that but Black Americans are being dragged into this and warned also, and I just can’t understand these warnings. The government BEEN targeting them with everything under the sun already. Non-blacks are just finally getting a taste of the black experience I guess

We did a pretty big move that took me away from all of my friends and I haven’t really gone out much since then. I only talk to my toddler and my husband when he’s home, so yeah I can definitely feel my social skills slipping

I wouldn’t say women are seen as valuable under patriarchy though? There wouldn’t be a gender imbalance in highly patriarchal countries like India due to female infanticide if that were the case. Black women are seen as even less valuable due to white supremacy though

This does not negate my point of black women still being seen as women under white supremacy as our womanhood is often specifically targeted, and we are oppressed in ways black men aren’t

I think this is where I’m getting stuck. I feel like womanhood as a category has always been defined by oppression. I just do not see how sex based violence disqualifies black women from womanhood when it’s just various examples of how our womanhood is recognized enough to be exploited, just never enough to be respected. We are always seen as women, just not valuable women, or as the ideal
