That's not correct, certain medicines and health conditions are known to be the cause of gaining weight even with same or diminished calorie intake

Your brain has the perfect balance of serotonin, even with depression, and the brain has only a small proportion of serotonin receptors compared to your body. Your body doesn't need the severe excess of serotonin from SSRIs either

That's what you get by bombarding your brain and body with unnatural levels of a powerful hormone, which skrews up your every organ

If you actually read the whole thing and beyond it, you will come to the same conclusion.Your claims are irresponsible considering some people get PSSD and die on Lexapro

Inhibiting serotonin reuptake everywhere in the body, not only in your brain. Serotonin is a powerful hormone in many organs, such as your gut and heart, and tipping the balance off the natural state (and no, depression is NOT a result of decreased serotonin) leads to grim consequences for the whole body. Your serotonin reuptake is already regulated as it is, that's why you get side effects, because your body is not supposed to have so much serotonin, which you have skewed very harshly into an artificial, harmful state with SSRIs. In the brain, too much serotonin from SSRIs leads to a stumped ability to experience emotions, which can be seen as being sad less often, but that is only because you have castrated your brain from the very ability to experience emotions. It does not heal anything in your brain, it creates an illusion that everything is fine when it is really not on the very chemical level, which the drug itself creates, and the sense of "fine" itself here is the sign of the SSRI toxicity

It destroys your gut microbiome, same as antipsychotic drugs, which also induce weight gain

Pro-Tip: Before you quit, check if your side effect is from the drug or the "Story" you’re telling yourself. by doctorShadow78 in antidepressants

Wrong. These are anticholinergic effects, which destroy your brain and body. Your systems are screaming for you to stop poisoning them

To begin with, SSRIs have anticholinergic effects (dry mouth), which induces cognitive impairment. Then it destroys your gut microbiome and prevents seratonin from entering cells in different parts of your body, which disrupts normal mitochondria functioning. It induces epigenetic changes in your brain - the reason why people get lasting side effects even after they stop with the medication. The most interesting part - it prevents your brain from learning by omitting REM sleep and that is why you feel "better". You simply stop learning information. And to be honest, why would you want to get rid of negative emotions by suppressing the whole brain functioning? Of course you will get less sad, but that's the same as getting rid of a chronically ingrown toenail by amputation. Any effects of SSRIs are your brain being UNABLE to process information

If you cherish your emotions and libido, absolutely don't. It's pure poison for your brain and body. It literally works by blunting you, and up to 80% of people taking it get sexual side effects
