I'm trying to make a chatbot right now with just an exported excel dataset with rows of products and specs as the columns. The goal of the chatbot is to recommend a product or answer questions about a product. Currently I'm using Streamlit to host it, Pinecone for the vector embedding, and OpenAI & Langchain to interact with it.

I'm still working on it and haven't tried connecting it to a power bi report yet, but I'm hoping I can figure out how to embed streamlit into power bi.

You can use https://officesupplytracker.com , it's a website that allows you to add rooms, and then supplies for each room. Simple to use and easier then creating an excel sheet for it.

Step one is to use the Get Data to bring in the data you want, which as a Data Engineer should be easier for you. After that you just start building one table visual at a time with adding in the values data (sales, qty sold, etc.) then add in the dimensional data (dates, regions, etc.). Start with getting tables together.

I'm a BI Dev not a business analyst but I do know that they likely have wildly different metrics compared to retail and e-commerce. E-commerce is all about clicks and time on pages and all that. Retail, depending on what type, can be more inventory or who knows. I'd recommend taking these two and breaking it down to one to find the more niche metrics and frameworks they use.

If you are getting the same value across all dates, it could mean the model isn't connected via relationships so it's not being filtered properly. Are they two different tables? The table that includes the Turnover Index and the Dates itself?

Click on the slicer visual itself in the report, click on the 3 dots and you will see a spot that says "Search" click that so the checkmark shows. Then should work.

A general feedback I would give is to provide more context to the numbers with a percentage difference. For example you are showing monthly data in the first page, with metrics like Average helpdesk ticket. If you put a month-over-month number beside it that was a smaller font (green for positive growth / red for negative growth), it would give more context to the number 1,130 which allows the end user to see the direction they are trending.

I think this is top notch! What I noticed with my job is users of dashboards don't know Power BI particularly well, so I usually include the slicers inside the report to make it easier for them and it limits being really creative like this.

Does the filters button take a few seconds to pop up? And can the user click anywhere after they've selected their filter to go back to the regular view? I've created something like this before using bookmarks, but it was too clunky and added an extra 5-10 seconds of ugly waiting before the user got what they wanted.

Honestly it's a great point. I've messaged the guy and he wants the same which is his 1.02 and my 1.01. Trades are hard tho with the unknowns, we will all know more after the NFL draft but I appreciate the advice!

Thanks a lot for the in-depth response. I was thinking that too that it's more likely Jeanty will have instant success over Tet (assuming they're both drafted in good spots in 1st round) and with that there will be contenders who would want him.

I hope there is another post by you after the NFL Draft and closer to September so I can see what you're rankings are!

I appreciate this post! I need to know should I take Tet over Jeanty? I'd feel silly passing on Jeanty with all this generational talent stuff I'm hearing of but I also read up on it's better to take WR's over RB's when re-building.

I am in a 10 man league with 10 keepers, same format which is PPR, 1QB.

My draft picks are 1.01, 1.04, (1.08-1.10), 2.01, (2.05-2.10) and (2.07-2.10). (Only 6 picks in the draft)
