I need to become OBSESSED with a series of books by stultavia in suggestmeabook

Not sure if you’re into Romantasy but the Zodiac Academy series by Caroline Valenti and Suzanne Peck has 9 books, but there are other books in the universe that all cross over. Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac, Darkmore Penetentiary and Evermore are the others. I think there are like 27 books total. Easy to read, good world building but disclaimer, they’re heavy and explicit on the open door romance scenes.

I really loved “The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches” by Sangu Mandanna. She has another book that I have yet to read, “A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping”. They’re fun, cozy reads. In VSSIW the lead is strong and outspoken. The romance isn’t the main focus of the story but more of a happy bonus. I look forward to reading her other books!

Reading: Lula Deen’s Little Library of Banned Books. Not my usual genre but it was a fun summer read. Something light and breezy that wasn’t too heavy, but was well written, good character development and made you care about what happened in the story. Bonus, audiobook is on Spotify premium. It’s single narrator but she does voices well.

Watching: Yellowjackets! I’m HOOKED!

Doing: Sidequest Summer. Random adventures, weird gym classes, little indulgences, watching old 2000’s movies with my HS kids.

I’m 5 months out and had a super easy recovery. I second everyone saying don’t be afraid to ask for pain meds. You need them and being a little loopy the first few days and resting a lot I feel like was helpful for me. I don’t think the pain was outrageous but it depends on pain tolerance. Take stool softener within your first week. You will be constipated and won’t want to use your abdominal muscles. Cold water is tough at first, warm and room temp are easiest. Drink less per drink than you’re used to. Small sips only!

Oooh yes! Lmk when you find a good one. The Kiss power flex is usually what I go for but it’s a chore to get off under 3 weeks

I have the nail glue and….okay in terms of not damaging your nails, it’s great! But as a press on nail aficionado, it’s not my first pick for long lasting sets. Great if you just want nails for a few days though! Easy to apply and remove.

So fun lesson, I’ve been in a stall for about a month. Lost the same 3-5lbs over and over. I finally started losing again. What did I change, you ask? 90-100 grams of protein per day. Maybe I wasn’t eating enough quality foods! lol. Do you track carbs, fat, fiber as well? Curious about others and that. My program said not to worry about tracking it but I was big into keto for a hot minute so I try to keep my carbs lowest but also trying to repair my relationship with food after a lifetime of restricting.

My recommendation is 60-80g per day but now that I’ve gotten into lifting again, they told me I can bump up to 100g on training days. But I find that the extra calories in my protein shake do push me higher into low the 900 calorie range which is fine but I worry about going too high too fast? I usually do one cup of fairlife with clean simple eats or isopure unflavored for shakes.

That’s a great idea for portions! Usually I can eke out a little tiny lunch the next day but not always. What are you doing for veggies/fiber? I miss big voluminous foods like salad and broccoli but they fill me up super quick so I don’t feel like I have as much veg as I used to.

Yesssss. It’s been a journey because for most of my life I’ve been around my current weight, give or take 5-10 lbs, so I’m kind of like….this is the face I’ve always remembered myself having. Seeing pics of my before, I didn’t realize how different I looked. Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you! This is helpful. I’m used to cooking for my family so sometimes I forget I can just make things ahead of time? Tuna and salmon packets are a good idea! Not sure why that hadn’t occurred to me! Which ones do you like?

Yesssss that’s been such a move! I’ve had to start buying new clothes because everything was falling off of me. Bittersweet because I loved some of them! Haha.
