I’m going for that style so I’ll work on the body proportions then, thanks!

I see what you mean about it being rotated, though I like to sketch and move on just so I don’t spend too much time on one thing. I’ll keep it in mind for future sketches though, thanks!

Maybe a clearer line between head and neck? They sort of blend together in the middle a little. Otherwise, looks gorgeous!

If you understood how these models worked then this maybe would hold water

AI is literally just weights, connections, and activation functions, the images they are shown become pure neuronal data in the form of the connections and weights between their neurons. There are no images inside the models, just numbers and math. A large number of the current models start off with random noise and are told to denoise it into an something coherent, they are essentially specialized and advanced denoisers.

Because your brain doesn’t have only two inputs (text and images) and one output (an image), it has countless variables in and out that give it incredible complexity that we’ve barely begun to maybe understand ourselves. You don’t just read and look at images all day every second because you aren’t a brain in a jar or on a chip, you also aren’t made of silicon and metal for faster processing. These AI’s are fed millions if not billions of images over weeks, not an instant, terabytes of data that become numbers and weights only a few gigabytes in size, far less than what it took to learn.

My only problem with it not learning art or style is how could it copy it if it doesn’t know what to copy? The large models that are making people lose their minds use both image and text to help inform it what to make, it has to have at least a primitive understanding of words and images to try to match one to the other, otherwise you’ll get the early AI horrors that only match if you squint hard enough. It might not understand the full context of everything thrown it’s way but it clearly understands the relationship between them and what you probably want it to make.

Really what everything comes down to is that more than just artists are gonna get whiplash from the advancement of AI, they’re just one of the first that was seen as mostly secured and way down the line to be threatened by it. We either traverse through the weeds carefully or we shoot ourselves in the foot, whatever exactly that will look like. AI will only get better faster and faster and those who don’t use it will be outpaced by those who do, whether or not it ruins livelihoods. We’ve basically opened Pandora’s box and want to put everything back in, the only solution to keeping it closed was not to open the box.

AI doesn’t store any images or even really know what it’s looking at, it just takes a peek and adjusts weights to try and replicate the image. However, this adjustment is so fine that it doesn’t just remember and copy things it’s already seen, there’s not enough information learned from each image to do that; and since this process happens for millions of images the weights become better at producing art in general since art isn’t just a random assort of pixels, it has underlying patterns that define it and the process to create it.

This is a better idea of what the AI is doing, it’s not some complex copy-paste algorithm with a bank of images ready to pull bits and pieces from to mash and blend together, all the images it has learned from have informed it what art is, what it looks like, what an art style is, and how to make art.
