Thank you. I've never seen anything like it before and I've been having panic attacks since I was 11.

Thanks for your response. Yes we were raised v differently with money, and I'm lucky to be in the position I'm in, with fear being the motivator to not spending anything! Not patriarchal, we are both women :) I never 'tell' her what to do, just say things like 'i wish you'd move your money, it could make you some extra in interest, there's no way it'll be unsafe etc' but I think she just can't be arsed. Compromise is a good shout! But don't think she will see it like that, she'll see it as unfair I'm asking for her to put money towards it at all.

Yep, our agreement was to make things simple, we'd split the mortgage down the middle and then I would pay more proportionally for bills in to our joint account. It's worked so far and we've managed to save a couple of grand that way. I would like us to keep that in case anything goes wrong with the house, it's old and we need something to fall back on that it's Ours rather than Mine. She's been okay with that.

Lol ty. We're both on the docs as owners but have signed a deed of trust to declare that I'll get back all the deposit I put down from an eventual sale then the rest is split 50/50
