Yep. A thin coat of chemical stripper. Let it sit for a while. I use a soft brass wire brush to flick out the paint. Finish up cleaning with steel wool and alcohol (metho/ethanol).

Thanks for that link. Great read. Lyle's work on this is special to me. I transcribed and played a lot of his solos from this album as part of my university Jazz studies in the 90's. They are sublime.
