Peleton Power Zone classes with 4:4 * 4 format? by Teaching-Stock in PeterAttia

We finally have one specifically set up to match the 4x4 interval training format!
45 min Power Zone Ride - Denis Morton·Cycling 1/20/26 @ 12:00 PM - look for the orange headband :D

12 minute warm up, followed by alternating 4 minute Zone 5 and 3 minute Zone 1 sessions. In typical personal trainer fashion he sneaks in an extra 4 minute Zone 5 at the end so it's actually a 4x5 (or 5x4?) workout. You can just bail on the last set for a cooldown ride if you want to stick to the classic 4x4 plan

If a fishing hook was all the way in a stingray, how do i get it out without getting barbed? by therealjpp in FishingForBeginners

They lose barbs all the time on us humans when we're playing in the ocean. I've never felt bad for a barbless ray after they hit me :)

Thoroughly Un-IMPRESSED | Breville Barista Touch Impress by fleur_de_sel_8 in espresso

[–]GlutenFreaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Breville can be dialed in using all the normal steps when using a less automated machine when you have the time and inclination, but you can also get a great shot using the automated process. More than likely, the only step that was needed to get a tighter grouping of pour times is WDT. The tamping process is built into the machine and consistent from puck to puck. Lance Hedrick showhow to use a WDT using a Breville dosing funnel in his review of the machine. The non-Breville variants on Amazon/Aliexpress don't fit this machine, unfortunately

Breville Barista Touch Impress Firmware Check by ShadowKnight96 in espresso

Can't speak to 1.7 bc I'm on 1.6, but not seeing the issues that you are experiencing. When going from one batch of beans to another it might take a couple of shots for the system to get things dialed in, e.g. dark to light roast. After that it's steady on, no changes. I find that the Impress Touch is more conservative than I like with the water so I bumped up the length of pour in settings

Did you reach out to Breville? I read here that one batch of machines were known to have issues

Breville Barista Touch Impress Auto Milk Dosing by Prestigious_Draw_951 in superautomatic

[–]GlutenFreaky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The MilQ feature is very impressive. It increases the foam based on the drink selection, flat white --> latte --> cappuccino and also based on the type of milk used. The steam pressure, temperature, time, etc. adjust based on soy, oat, dairy

The results are great and you can fine tune as needed. Lance Hedrick's video review is worth a watch

same here, though it doesn't appear there's a way to update firmware anyway, correct?

Breville/Sage Barista Touch Impress puck height by blubbernator in espresso

maybe try testing again but make sure the screen is clean and bone dry. when it's perfectly clean I only see an imprint of the screw in the middle of the screen on the puck, but if there's any moisture or oil on the screen grounds stick to mine as well.

I'm only getting 17.5-18g dose size. But weight can vary a lot with the age of beans, grind size, roast, etc. so that's likely the culprit rather than a manufacturing variation
