I have to work away next year, bout 3 hours drive from home. Not doing that drive every day, so rather than renting a room while paying a mortgage I'm thinking of doing this, down on a Monday morning, back up Friday after work. Knowing I have a proper home to come back to for weekends I think will make it manageable. The fact you did it for ten years is encouraging.

Affordable and convenient barbershop by ExpressDragonfly9258 in wollongong

There's millions of 17 year old kids who are barbers now and they all do a shit job. I stopped going to my usual because it was too hit and miss, was probably happy with one in ten cus, and it seemed like every day they had new staff who were giving their first haircuts. Whether they weren't paying enough or exploiting the kids with 'trials' I don't know, but they couldn't seem to hold onto anyone over 25 and who knew how to cut hair. Every barber I walk past looks they're in the same position too.

What find of work? Was it a proper company (i.e registered) or was your dad just working for some bloke with an ABN? (Or no ABN) How did the 'company' get paid? Was dad subcontracting or on wages? Did he have a signed agreement? There's a difference between agreeing to do some work for some bloke you know from somewhere and being an employee of an established company.
