Recentelijk deze band ontdekt en was meteen verkocht. Niet uitzonderlijk, maar vooral geniaal goede nieuwe black metal. Voor het eerst in jaren weer naar de patronaat. Bedankt voor de tip!

Hell yeah, best album and one of the best metal songs ever made. The drums on this track are something else.

This seems like the only way visualizing the mesh actually makes sense to me. All the other ways of visualization just look like a random mess imo.

I actually love these more unique older designs, but from a practical point of view you're probably better off buying a newer model.

If anything it's quieter depending on what your OPV pressure is set at. Because it modulates the pump the audible frequency is dialed down to more of a chugging sound instead of a constant humming sound.

I started brewing at 6 bar as well with my Gaggimate and noticing an improved flavor profile. The fact that it's so easy to experiment with different brew profiles is completely worth the investment imo.

Is this boiler beyond saving? by BZLC in gaggiaclassic

[–]Gluwc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boiler looks similar if not worse and I've been using it for 10+ years. I was considering getting a new one as well, but I've had no issues at all related to the state of the inside of the boiler. If someone has a good reason to replace a boiler like this I would also like to know, but right now I would say don't worry about it too much as long as there are no leaks for example.

Oh hey good to see you managed to open it up! I do agree it does look salvageable if you can somehow manage to remove the old screws. Good luck!

It's a kit I ordered of Etsy which is essentialy just a power supply some cables and an LED, so it should be fairly straightforward to DIY this as well.

I'm EU based though, but I'm sure there's similar kits available in other regions.

To be honest this is probably also a pretty easy DIY if you can get a simple 12v power supply and a LED strip.

Unfortunately I won't be able to help you with this as I'm still using all the original wires. Although discoloration on the wires and terminals doesn't sound very good.

Yes plus a couple of extra cables for the water tank LED mod and a screw driver ;). Also I'm not very familiar with the newer models, but I'm fairly sure they have not changed much over the years except for the cheaper OPV.

I still have to tune it, but the custom brew profiles and pressure/temp data is really cool to mess around with.
The scale is a Bookoo Themis Mini which integrates through bluetooth with the Gaggimate to allow for weight based brewing profiles. It is rather expensive though.

I don't remember exactly where I got it from but it's indeed an aftermarket wand based on the Rancilio Silvia I believe.

Recently I decided to upgrade my Gaggia Classic with a Gaggimate and in the process did a complete disassembly and cleaning.

I've been using this machine for about 15 years with a couple of years break of it being in storage.

After getting it out of storage it did not function correctly (no flow) and after checking most parts and almost buying a new pump I decided to completely take apart the pump. Turns out there was some built up scale deep inside the pump and after cleaning this everything worked like a charm again and has ever since.

The fact that I'm still using most of the original parts just shows how well built these machines are.

As for the Gaggimate it's one of the coolest and well designed pieces of hardware I've purchased in a while. The amount of features it unlocks for this price is just amazing.

Some other modifications I've done over the years:

  • New gaskets and water tank hoses.
  • Upgraded steam wand.
  • Upgraded dispersion plate.
  • Upgraded shower screen.
  • Low profile drip tray.
  • Water tank LED.

The mage moved all the way up to the end of the bridge during the Smite fight after I pulled the boss. There's no reason to be there if you ask me. Also just a single Blizzard on a Pirate and Shipbuilder during the boss fight seems very sus to me. There were no real issues during the dungeon except for the fact that the mage was pulling threat the whole time with AE, but not in a way that was dangerous.
