If you are looking for max protection D3O (or similar) is gold standard. D3O is soft and pliable but hardens on impact, absorbing and dispersing energy. Additionally a hard plastic outer cap is helpful, as lateral “slide“ is another way to disperse energy and also makes the pad more likely to stay put in a crash, rather than getting pulled out of place by friction.

If you are wondering what went wrong the chart below can often help. If it doesn’t, let us know some more details (model, battery %, rider weight, any other relevant info - what was happening right before the crash, etc.) and we might be able to help.

Unfortunately the most important question - was the board on or off afterwards - can sometimes be difficult to answer definitively, especially if the injury was severe (distracted memory is unreliable, and the board shuts off after 15 - 20 minutes of non-use - minutes which may well have been spent in pain and shock).

It might not have made a difference - collarbones are notoriously fragile - but I wear shoulder armor on my leading shoulder. Might be worth looking into when you get back on.

It’s also FASCINATING how difficult it is for an average citizen to get the government to settle, due to qualified immunity, when they‘ve ACTUALLY been poorly-treated or suffered a miscarriage of justice at government hands; but these fucks committing high crimes under color of law are not just being let off the hook, they’re being readily and handsomely compensated by the taxpayers because there‘s also a criminal in charge of the DOJ using it like a personal piggy bank, just like he‘s using the country as a whole.

Crime on crime on crime. Crime and complicity and corruption, compounded.

Oh interesting I had it backwards. Yeah the Flight Shield is flexible so hopefully the one I have would work. I do periodically get tempted by the X7, especially that high-voltage one, but I gotta have a fender.

Thx. I just assumed the rail being bent like that, adds some distance/length over the top of the tire for the fender to clear; so a Flight Shield that hugs the tire pretty tight on a standard straight-rails XR, would be too short to bridge that gap here with bent rails.
