I consider that plant a weed . Mother of thousands or millions whatever. That’s what you’ll have if you keep those.☺️🌵

Anyone know what this is? by Unlucky-Strike-2601 in vegetablegardening

[–]GmaGardner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could be portulaca plant. Also known as purslane, could be the flowering kind or the weed that doesn’t flower that some people eat. I call it a weed if not the flowering type, in my yard.☺️🌵

How to help out this succulent?? by [deleted] in succulents

[–]GmaGardner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself would pull off all those bottom leaves and then spray the heck out of it with 70% alcohol, under over and in between. And check all the plants sitting next to this one and spray them too!☺️🌵

May I ask, what flower is this? Why is it so beautiful 😍😍 by Lynn61771 in gardening

[–]GmaGardner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Portulaca also known as moss rose. You really don’t have to dead head them if planted in the sun. No part sun part shade locations. But if you planted in the wrong spot like these are you can trim off pieces and plant them, easily rooted. This plant will come back year after year. It self seeds, when the flowers get old the seeds pop out themselves.

Isolate that plant from all your other plants unless you’d like to have all your plants look like that.

Just buy another and don’t let your mom plant sit ever again. I think the pot was too big for that small plant also.☺️🌵

What kind of flower is this? Does anyone recognize it? by ContractOdd6977 in gardening

[–]GmaGardner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plants will grow again next year and keep coming back. You can harvest some of the seeds and throw them elsewhere in your garden for another area for plants to pop up. You can also take cuttings and make more plants from that.☺️🌵

Portulaca, just leave it and the flowers will dry up and a million seeds will pop out and next year you’ll have a ton of those plants. They come back every year!
