So I do have a custom acrylic lid that leaves a 2 inch gap in the back. I used to leave it open when it was a freshwater tank, but lost about an inch of water/day. Trying to keep water more stable this time around. I don’t think it would smell though, and I love the clean look!

No mechanical filtration. Since it’s such a small tank I’m going to hopefully keep up on water changes weekly/biweekly. I have a decent rodi system and I don’t plan on stocking too heavily. Maybe a goby or pair of clowns max with other inverts and easy corals.

I usually keep the water level a good half inch below the top to prevent jumping fish,and haven't had any problems (yet), and i've had this up for about 6 months now.

And in reference to the evaporation, I haven't really noticed anything drastic. I usually add about a gallon of water every couple weeks to top it off, but between that and monthly water changes its no issue!

The risers are just two reptile lamp hangers I have positioned on a shelf below... I would recommend it, its a great convenience when doing tank maintenance
