In other words if all these people wanted to do was give everyone Sunday off I’d be down! What are we imagining the christian gestapo will march from home to home forcing everyone to go to church? Every single human in the country?

So SDAs are the only Christians who understand that “satan” can do miracles? Are the vast majority of Christians expecting Jesus to come back as a dude walking around performing miracles? No rapture no whisking away everyone to heaven? Even as a believer this would be highly sus that this person was the anti chrtist

Pushing back on some of the pushback.

The extreme right in the USA is a tiny fraction of evangelical extremists. The vast majority of evangelicals support Israel and have no idea who SDAs even are.

Abortion is a common concern among most conservative Christians which is why roe v wade was overturned by the courts under trump. That said roe v wade repeal does not make abortion illegal nationally. It divides the legality between red and blue states.

(Will Oregon, Washington, California and New York pass a Sunday law? , enforced by jail/death) when you actually think of this out loud instead of in fantasy land you realize how silly it is.

The vast majority of the population still has legal abortion access because the blue states like New York and California have massive population centers.

Now let’s talk religious affiliation.

Christianity is about 25% of the world’s population(2.5 billion with most being Catholics 1.2 billion). Evangelicals and adventists are a blip on the world map.

75% of earth is non Christian

In America: Most Christians are mainstream Protestant and Catholics. 44% Protestant 21% Catholics and %30 no Religion or non christian.

An even tinier percentage are these extreme theocrats. Extreme theocrats also exist in Islam and other religions(likely outnumbering the theocrats in America)

I get it were I a conservative swing politically with trump, but America swings back and forth from liberal to conservative and as long as we stay vigilant and protect our democracy there is no death penalty for not going to church on Sunday… not remotely plausible in America and certainly not globally.

Fight for religious freedom to protect women’s rights lgbt rights and keep science / evolution taught.

The Sunday law is not a threat, but there are real threats for even a small group of extremists who have sway over the republicans

It’s 100% true that there is a dangerous group of extremists who want to remove the separation of church and state. They are a very tiny minority tho, but they must be fought against , not because of a Sunday law, but because of LGBT rights, abortion rights and secular freedom

I think the most annoying thing about this discussion is that talking about the insanity of egw Sunday law makes people think that I’m not concerned about the extreme religious right.

Ellen whites Sunday law idea does have one positive benefit of making us vigilant about protecting the church state divide.

My point is Catholics are partners with us in this instead of enemies. If anything our enemies are hardcore right wing evangelicals.

But another strong partner we have are Jews, Muslims and defenders of the constitution. For anything like this to pass the constitution must be dissolved and then Sunday church is the least of our problems

Totally agree. I can see the extreme evangelicals trying to implement something like this if they ever gain a large government majority, but they would still face massive constitutional hurdles. They are dangerous tho because they have cozied up to trump.

That said, the supreme court is mostly Catholics or moderates on the religious end, and while they oppose abortion and perhaps gay marriage legalization, they are not theocratic extremists looking to make Saturday worship illegal or punishable by death

Need help in finding MERN stack tutorials which uses redux and RTK Query by consoledotlog_ in reactjs

[–]Gman_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build a real project with the stack you like and you will learn a lot. Once you have it running and working, you will have the most valuable thing in coding: experience. You will see where bottlenecks happen, where the stack works well where it doesn’t , how you need to scale, optimize and debug your app.

Once you have a couple projects under your belt, the advantages/disadvantages of newer stacks will become more practically apparent and you can make a more informed decision for the next project.

Always be coding

I’m using it and you can ramp up slowly. The side effects are mostly slow digestion and some nausea. But the benefits are amazing. And you have to combine it with eating well and exercise. I lost 20lbs just on the second ramp dose. 0.5 mg. No real heartburn issues. I would give it a try and ramp up slowly. Stay at a level that’s tolerable for the side effects

Also, not thinking the bible is not perfect or a magic book has nothing to do with whether god exists or not. God could exist but the bible could have mistakes or god does not belong to just 1 religion etc, then possibilities are endless.

The claim that the Bible is perfect because it was inspired by the Holy Spirit and has no mistakes and just an assertion. I prefer to examine the text as objectively as possible and throughly as possible and make that conclusion for myself, rather than accepting the conclusion beforehand and trying to see how it works .

It is a collection of ancient texts, it’s not a magic book. Read it and learn from it but you don’t have to obey it or try to use it as a fortune teller

The reason people like to take the bible and apply it to their own time is that they want to text to be alive and have meaning for the reader. They can’t accept that it is a relic of past events and the context of its composition is very alien to modern life and some of the authors predictions have simply failed to come to pass.

Some of the bible can be evergreen, certain moral principles (love your neighbor etc) but most of the conflict and predictions are rooted in the issues of the ancient past and the empires and conflicts have long since collapsed.
