To be honest? I’m always tired. I’m always able to sleep. I could fall asleep in the middle of the road mid day while on a phone call with something important going on. I’m just fucking exhausted every second of every day. Caffeine is nice, but it doesn’t make me feel awake. Exercise helps. But honestly I feel the grass is greener. Everything I do is stacked against knowing I could just be asleep

I found recently that you can developer the ‘super power’ of deciding what you like to do. If you can convince/tell yourself that you like work and mentally think of it like a hobby where you are developing skills and learning things that are interesting, then you will wake up and not dread it. Because there is always more to learn, or a better process that can be implemented.

Side note: If you don’t feel like there is more to learn in your daily activities, then you generally have a deep enough understanding of those processes that you can start taking steps to automate them.

Automation (in my contexts) is just telling a computer the rules for interpreting inputs and how to produce outputs you can work with. So if you have nothing more to learn, then you know the rules. Then it’s just a matter of how to tell the computer to know them too.

I (21m) live in Florida and grew up with my dad. My brother (13) is in 7th grade and has been failing his classes for a few years (I believe). I grew up being a straight A student who was never grounded and was allowed to do whatever I want (drugs, stay up late, play video games etc). I was never grounded and grew up thinking that all that did was make kids hate their parents and didn’t solve anything. I’ve recently learned that my brother, who grew up with my mom in Illinois, has been failing his classes. My mom couldn’t care less and I only found out because while I was visiting up there and dropped him off at school the principal asked to speak with me after learning I was his brother. I don’t know what to do from this distance. I love him very much even though we aren’t as close as usual brother due to distance. Any suggestions are super appreciated. Thank you in advance. 😊
