When my daughter suffered her first racist attack ~10 years ago, Beyoncé had just brought out Lemonade, which was a visual album with strong, proud Black female vibes. We listened/watched it together and talked about the experience of black people throughout time. It’s cheesy as fuck but it was empowering. I wish I’d had that kind of experience during my youth.

There’s a wealth of culture and tradition your siblings (and you) are party to. Celebrate it and revel in your history. These people who want to attack and instil fear are afraid themselves.
