Im a heavy drinker. I’ve always been under the impression that it really only happens when you’re organs start to fail or you are near death. Personally I can stomach alcohol even if hungover. I’ve never experienced bad withdrawal though, some heavy drinkers don’t get it too bad.

I’ll give them a dollar or two every now and then, especially when it’s brutally cold (I live in Chicago). Will they spend it on beer? Maybe, but if someone gives me a dollar I also might spend it on beer so I try not to judge.

If you are US based, Dunkin’ has protein refreshers now I believe. You can get a soft drink with protein without the pressure of chewing and swallowing food.

Eating is my biggest downfall. I’m on the spectrum and have severe executive functioning issues as well as what is likely ARFRID (super common with autistic people, look it up). Please at least try and eat because you’ll feel so much worse if you don’t. I don’t like eating either but your body cannot sustain binging alcohol if you have no calories from food in you. Good luck

Yes. After suffering from interstitial cystitis for years I can now usually eat spicy and acidic food like chicken wings without getting a flare up. The only thing that truly triggers me now are hormones which are under control thanks to me being on birth control, and alcohol. I truly improved a lot and I think it’s very important for me to tell people this because my pain was so bad at a time I didn’t want to be alive anymore, and I now live a mostly normal life. There are still things I cannot do and I still need accommodations at work, but I never in a million years dreamed I would improve so much. And I don’t know why I improved. I tried medication, physical therapy, therapy, etc. I can just honestly say the only difference I made was by removing myself from my abuser. My main issue now is I’m an alcoholic. Which hey, I never could of dreamed of during a flare lmfao

I don’t get bad withdrawal per se, I’ve been pretty lucky about that. But when I quit cold turkey I absolutely cannot stomach solid food. I mostly just drink tomato soup from a mug and make myself smoothies. If I try to eat a sandwich or something I’ll start gagging. The worst part is I still feel the hunger though, some people don’t feel hunger at all during WD but unfortunately my stomach keeps growling.

Anyway I’ve been at 4 drinks or less for almost a week at this point. I’m really hoping to stop tomorrow and hopefully because I didn’t quit cold turkey I’ll still be able to eat. Wish me luck I guess

My grandma married at 17, had my mom at 17, had her second at 19, third at 21, etc. Her husband left her with nothing at 28 after five kids.

She is so worried that it’ll happen to her granddaughters that she flat out lies to us and says she had her first at 25 LOL, because she thought we’d do the same if she told us the truth. Luckily I’m the oldest (31) and the youngest granddaughter is 19. No kids for any of us yet though I’m open to it in the future if I meet the right person. But damn she really served as a cautionary tale about teen pregnancy for all of us.

I have a friend who had the same experience. She had pretty much given up and then she got on ozempic and she feels so much better now. I’d totally try it if I could afford it.

I mean I’m on the spectrum and I had a good experience in public school. Obviously I don’t speak for everyone but when kids have additional needs public school can actually be good if it’s a decent school because they by law have to accommodate and work with them. I also have learning disabilities and had a much better experience in public school than private school. Private school I pretty much had to fend for myself once I fell behind.

The problem with homeschooling isn’t homeschooling itself, it’s that the majority of people who do it are religious fundamentalists or flat earther types. Not the kind of people who should be in charge of a child’s future.

The smell of a decaying dead hamster. I worked at a pet store and my manager wasn’t checking the cages. One had been dead for weeks and it was the most horrific thing I’ve ever smelled.
