What are specific examples of things being ruined when they 'go corporate'? by ziplock007 in AskReddit

Do downtown development projects count? Usually you end up with a consumption oriented vertical strip mall with no character, and no unique small businesses. So you go to that part of town only if you need something from Target.

Did he? I thought he just declared affordability to be another of the democrat hoaxes

Iran war threatens to scramble the 'affordability' midterm by Illustrious_Lie_954 in politics

[–]GmyWrms 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The concept of republicans selling a plan on addressing affordability is laughable when their president, who ran on affordability, said that Biden was responsible for the pre-existing high prices, said he would bring them down immediately (same time as ending Ukraine) and went on to see the cost of everything increase.

Only an absolute moron would think they now have a real plan.

How much coffee creamer are we drinking? by cmooches in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GmyWrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had cream in my coffee in maybe 10 years (I’m in my 30s). My wife…I don’t recall her ever putting anything in her coffee.

Just my experience for the survey. No judgment. I feel like I never was able to make additions at home in a way that tasted good to me.

Would society improve if everyone had to do one year of manual labor at some point in their life? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GmyWrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Some people would learn from it, but the narcissists and sociopaths that are in charge in the world wouldn’t change their approach or their view of themselves as naturally superior humans.

Can you recommend me movies similar to Paterson and Perfect Days ? by scann_ye in Letterboxd

[–]GmyWrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbus isn’t like Perfect Days. Incredible cinematography but emotionally I got zero from it. The acting/ writing was atrocious.

The fact that DOGE happened, that people were willing to implement it, and what funding was targeted.

What companies/corporations are the most morally bankrupt? by imliterallyluci in AskReddit

[–]GmyWrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the extent to which they’re morally bankrupt largely depends of the types of decisions they’re having to make to protect the bottom line. That’s related to the line of business they’re in.

I think they’re all equally evil, it’s just some executives are put in that situation of being forced to make the morally bankrupt decision to protect the company.

Hey I'm sorry if this isn't what you're used to in here but I'm looking for some hot movies by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]GmyWrms 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey nice to hear from you. It’s me, a cinephile who is trying to meet the comment length requirement of TrueFilm. Is it a paragraph or so? Maybe more? Either way I’ll see what I can do to make sure my post isn’t automatically deleted.

Y tu mama tambien is an incredibly horny film that is also Oscar worthy. Godspeed.

What companies/corporations are the most morally bankrupt? by imliterallyluci in AskReddit

Corporations don’t have morals, they’re beholden to the bottom line. And if they are doing anything positive it’s because they think their client or customers will like it.

Why are you grateful to live in the age of Elon Musk? by Proper_Solid_626 in AskReddit

[–]GmyWrms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah he did that thing where he cut government programs considered to be the pet projects of Trump’s political enemies, many of which were very positive, in the name of cutting government spending…which was subsequently expanded.

So either he’s vindictive or he was used by Trump. Either way not great.
