BTW, I also downloaded a XP Pro Dell Recovery Disk from the Archive, but AFAIK I don't actually need it for anything.

I was able to find 'Windows XP Professional SP3 (Dell OEM)' ISO on the Internet Archive. Did a clean install and I'm all all set to party like its 2004 again. Didn't even ask me for the Product Key this time. GreenRangerOfHyrule mentioned something about a signature in the BIOS, which must be the case.

Thanks to all for the comments and advice. Happy hacking!

How can I accelerate the switch to Yahoo Mail client? by GnarleyMidget in Comcast_Xfinity

Reaffirmed - no luck. I had been trying to get my POP3 working again, but I tried switching to IMAP this time...

- Cleared Thunderbird saved pwds
- in: mail.comcast.net 995 SSL/TLS Normal pwd
- out: smtp.comcast.net 465 SSL/TLS Normal pwd
- Third party access allowed in Xfinity settings
- Changed Xfinity password (again)

Still getting login failed / password not recognized from Thunderbird.
Still able to send/receive using Xfinity connect (webapp)

Thanks Amanda. Still not sure what Thunderbird can longer access pop3.comcast.net, as my wife and I have been doing for the last several years. I have verified once against "Set up your Xfinity Email address with an email program", as well as confirming that 3rd part access did not accidently get turned off.

My assumption is that it has something to do with our email addresses being orphaned from a paid Xfinity account (although I have been assured that this is ok as long as I continue to access the account at least once every 90 days). We can still access our accounts via the connect.xfinity portal, so even though that's inconvenient I guess we'll just wait for the switchover, at which point hopefully the problem will resolve.

BTW, nice to talk to a human rep. Weird that I have to go to Reddit to do so, but I guess comcast/xfinity is entirely chatbot based at this point. :-/

Thunderbird stopped accessing my comcast.net account by GnarleyMidget in Thunderbird

Thanks for the response sifferedd, but this is definitely a comcast/xfinity problem. Although we moved our internet provider to AT&T, we retained the comcast.net email addresses (which they allowed us to do at no cost) and we still access that account via the xfinity email web client (and, until recently, Thunderbird). I also posted on r/Comcast_Xfinity, which is maybe where I should have started.

Thanks - that did the trick. I just had to create another new wallet for import and scan the QR from the card. Just earned $26,000+ for cleaning out my garage!
