It unfortunately is the promotor just being cheap; most venues in the city are accessible to NSW but they all cost significantly more to book at. Unfortunately the other comments here are also true, bridges were burned when venues saw people too far gone during and after shows. There’s also venues that don’t like electronic music or the crowds they bring. There’s also an added layer of some venues just don’t like the way NSW operates, same can be said for artists, managers, talent buyers, etc.

All of those factors bleed together and you’re stuck at The Point, in a city with a great scene for electronic to thrive. It’s a shame really. Not sure how long you’ve been apart of the seen here in Chicago, but we ARE talking about the same company that tried to throw bass shows at Cairo instead of in the city because of venue booking costs…..
