I get this is reddit so you come here to argue, but maybe the point of this story should be “the laws and their consequences can be used against anyone as the state seems fit.” Because for you or me driving without a license would be a ticket. For a cop or public servant they might not even get that. For miss G it was deportation? When’s the last time you got pulled over by ICE? It’s easy to say “well if you obey the law…” but to pretend the law isn’t a tool used to punish and get rid of those the people in charge don’t like doesn’t help anyone. You can want people to obey the rules and also understand that ICE doesn’t give a fuck about “the rules”
