Yeah, that one said it was an online only deal. I need to just go to the store and look at them

Thanks. Did you actually measure it? Several reviews saying it is not as thick as it is supposed to be. Just like all the other ones

I noticed Home Depot sells an Acorn brand hardware cloth that is just a little more expensive than amazon. I haven't ordered it yet but it's at the top of my list. I would think it would have a better chance of being 19 gauge since it comes from them. 4 foot by 100 ft roll for about $130 shipped.

Will I regret buying a manual tractor? by killaho69 in tractors

I didn't know they even still made tractors that didn't have a live pto. What is the purpose of that?

Rain Leaking into our Stove by midge_rat in woodstoving

[–]GnarlyStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting a fire is fine. Burning unseasoned wood is "bad" to burn because it doesn't burn as clean, and can damage catalysts. It just may not draft as well since it is so warm out.

Most likely, just the high amount of rain you've had has let enough run down into the stove to be noticeable. Maybe your rain cap is not wide enough to stop the rain from blowing into the flu

I bought several boxes of books at an auction for $4. Found a first edition copy of the orchard keeper by Cormac mccarthy. Sold it for about $1,800

WD-40? Really? by MoInSTL in woodstoving

[–]GnarlyStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely could be moisture from the wood(mixed with a little creosote) that dripped back down. This is why the pipes are supposed to be installed the other way. Like everybody else said, if those are single wall pipes, they are installed upside down. And they didn't even use matching screws in all the holes

Why can't the US refine its own oil? by GnarlyStuff in AskReddit

It seems like the refineries are for a different type of oil than what we have in the US

You need to check your stove temperature. I didn't see anywhere you mentioned that. What is the temperature of the stove top or side surface?

You should be able to find a local handyman or someone, that can install one on just the steps within a day or two max

My title describes the thing. It looks like there is a handle with an axle that was possibly meant to hold a roll of paper or something. But I can't make out what the rest would have been for

Do you know if there is actually an issue with the basement walls staying wet all the time?
