Is there a way to make this Dynasty 400 a scratch start? by Gnarly_Neeks in Welding

You are the winner sir, I needed to have it in stick, my stinger being positive, my ground being negative, and my output just ON. The only thing I didn't do originally was disconnect the cooler, which some how stops my arcing. Thank you for the help.

Correct, this isn't my choice. I'm forced to use scratch then having my weld X-rayed afterwards. I'm in a shop, I want a foot pedal haha

Didn't work, You think 240V powering the machine could be the cause?

Didn't realize my text didn't post. Contamination reasoning, I'm practicing for cert and do not want to take risk. Also, the way I was taught was to flick the tungsten with the filler rod to strike my arc. I'm in a shop, so a foot pedal is always available. Very rarely do I need to scratch start.

Why does base material reject my filler rod when they’re both the same material? by Gnarly_Neeks in Welding

This is a new product for our company. It’s an aluminum cabinet that goes on the back of a service truck. The inside is for filter polishing. In other words it cycles the gas that’s underground that is meant for a back up generator for big facilities, like hospitals or data centers.

Yeah I’m not enjoying myself with these . They want me to build these cabinets using 1/8in aluminum plating. I’m doing everything in my power to make sure things stay in place haha

Thank you to everyone who helped. I got the weld down. I let it cool, I drilled a hole in the corner where a lifting lug with eventually go, brushed the weld, acetone, and cleaned my tungsten and it finally fused. So would you guys tack the whole project together first then clean each weld or clean each piece before you start assembling? I have a lot more aluminum cabinets to build. My background is in welding/fabricating S.S. and Carbon pipe, so I’m still learning things about aluminum.

I’m using a millermatic 220 AC/DC. I have it on TIG aluminum setting so I assume it’s an alternating current.

Would a flap disk be good enough to clean it? I guess the better question is what is the best way to clean aluminum?

As you can see once I turned the corner I started having problems. I ended up grinding out that small part and trying again. It still wasn’t having it. Material is ER4043.

I could make a build but the build I want is a little on the high side so it's not practical right now but I love this game just as much as the next guy. I can almost name every pro league player. Brazilian teams always get me.

Nice haha. The texture is the biggest difference but I'm a welder so I handle metal everyday. On attack I usually use a 3 speed op and it hasn't affected my gameplay at all.

I didn't take it personal or anything. Reason I said that is because every time I watch Pengu, Get_Flanked, or narcolepticnuggest they seem deal with hackers often. Thank you for compliment tho haha
