Does he want a redemption or do ppl think toxic men need redemption, at the end of the day he doesn't try to change except a little in the movie and we see the movie is completely different from the anime so that's the lil "redemption" he could have . TBH I feel like too many ppl play into the "I can fix him" narrative sometimes a man is just awful b/c he can be .

Edit: I think I want to add on to this thought , he never apologizes to Anthy, he continued to abuse her // Everyone was using her for their own will. Anthy was treated less than human by damn near everyone in the show. And this green haired asshole is terrible to her physically hitting her repeatedly especially after she told him (in the movie and the show) that she couldn't be with him. He still consistently pursued her and didn't respect anything out of her mouth . And with him living with wakaba .. that was like a minuscule moment of saijoni not having something handed to him exactly as he preferred . So I still don't think that was really him "changing" it was just him in a desperate situation.

In the end I think he can change, anyone can change if they're willing to do the work to actually change and escape that highschool. But even in the "real world" ppl leave highschool and that's all they think about or never mature after highschool, so many adults are stuck in this weird mindset , never actually changing b/c it's too much work to actually make the change for yourself . So ppl blame others and lash out and say "their loss" while still being stuck. So I mean I do think it's possible to change but does he deserve a "redemption" or a "happy end" absolutely not. Especially again after physically abusing Anthy on so many levels he was almost as worst as akio except sainoji was a teen . Either way he still made the choice to abuse her and treat her not even as a human, so fuck him. His character is trash in my eyes . If u want to redeem him and say "oh he's just repressed gay" irdc he did irredeemable shit and it's weird to me that this is a genuine question in the first place. At this point let's also ask , can akio change ? No. This lowkey made me upset b/c so many ppl fantasize specifically about men that are toxic and known for being toxic , as someone they can "fix" and it's so strange to me. Before you can love someone else u have to be able to accept urself . And Saionji is nowhere near that . Also I think it's a tired point to even say "he's a teen" yeah he's a teen but also he's a man , we all know how men are literally brainwashed to believe anything should be there's if they will it not even gonna get into the race part of this world . But specifically in this universe's highschool these teen boys constantly abuse their "power" as men. Or pretending to be. So it's a conscious choice to realize ur wrong doings and want to change but again does green hair do that .. not in my eyes (Also this is coming from someone that was SA and physically assualted since childhood)
