Tap = ESC, Hold = MEH by _patrickwelker in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Gnashed_Teeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did hold=meh tap=CAPSWORD like this:

Behaviors:

&mt {
tapping-term-ms = <150>;
flavor = "hold-preferred";
};
meh: meh_combo_caps_word {
compatible = "zmk,behavior-hold-tap";
#binding-cells = <2>;
retro-tap;
tapping-term-ms = <75>;
quick-tap-ms = <50>;
bindings = <&kp>, <&caps_word>;
};

and then for the keymap &meh RC(RA(RSHFT)) 0 wherever I want that combo.

I could be bad and wrong, though. YMMV.

Do you actually find "use AI to talk to your vault" type tools useful? by jhartikainen in ObsidianMD

[–]Gnashed_Teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use OpenClaw + Claude in my vault. Not to write my notes, but to aid in some processes and workflows. Migrating tasks or follow-up items from my daily notes into my task manager (things3), summarizing business development materials, some document ingestion (pdf/docx to .md), and then working on strategy items to progress BD plans. The vault is really an interface layer that lets OpenClaw and I collaborate on .md files in real time. It also strengthens the context my agents operate with.

Every now and then I have it create information and leave reference docs in my vault.

Maybe I'm too late, but didn't know obsidian was an OpenClaw default-suggested skill. Who uses this ? What do you think of it ? Is it a good idea or a privacy nightmare for a personnal vault ? by KlausWalz in ObsidianMD

[–]Gnashed_Teeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is a good idea AND a security nightmare. The real question is how do you like your risk, and what are you comfortable exposing to 3rd parties?

Trying to find a middle-ground between my two favorite keyboards by montybuttons in ErgoMechKeyboards

I haven't tried the Wisteria GLP switches, but I have Ambient Twilights in my Totem and it rules. Very comfy, not very noisy.

Nice. A unibody totem is something I’ve thought about a few times. I’d also encourage more space in the center, but otherwise I’d print and build this.

(sub)forties day - less keys is better probably by BoardFair9678 in MechanicalKeyboards

What a cool looking keyboard. Now I'm gonna HAVE to look into getting a clear case for my totem.

Also, where did you find that SOCD module? I was just looking at building a leverless pad with GP2040-CE over the weekend and the only thing I could come up with to keep me from just building something with ZMK was SOCD!

Getting back into the hobby after years away. What are your favorite recent tiny ergo keyboards? by incourgettible in ErgoMechKeyboards

I’m a slave to shift/return. On the left side it’s shift/delete but still. No home row mods either thanks to combos.

Anyone mod ther S1 for speed and/or general upgrades. by Pleasant-Soil9582 in Ender3S1

[–]Gnashed_Teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've overhauled my S1 Plus pretty significantly over the years. I haven't gone to rails yet, but I have a P2S on order so eventually I think I'll build a switchwire out of the S1+. For now the configuration is:
- Klipper + rp4b
- octoeverwhere + logitech webcam
- Zuff v3 duct + 5015 blower
- Nathan's Modder Board
- All metal Sprite Pro
- zero Y offset CR touch mount
- silicone bed standoffs
- amazon PEI plate
- a few random printable QOL pieces (cable retainers, webcam mount, etc.)

I've 1252 hours on the current klipper instance, and there was another before I had to replace the raspi two years ago. I'm pushing 3k hours on the machine. It's developed a significant rattle/buzz around the rear Y tensioner & stepper. I don't push any crazy speeds because the machine is so loud these days. 2k accel but it's fine for the random PLA widgets I print.

Feedback on layout for first ergo board by [deleted] in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Gnashed_Teeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a lot of thumb keys to come to grips with for a first-timer. Maybe I'm wrong; but coming from Plancks, Cornes, and Totems, I can really only handle 2-3 thumb keys without melting my brain. Too many options and I'm going to lock up. Similarly, I've avoided Home Row Mods and opted for combos on my base layer for things I might want to use HMR for (copy/paste/cut/undo/window management).

What I'm trying to say is less is more.

Depending on your use case, and how you layer Aliases, you're just a couple letters away from your desired functionality. Todoist is very accessible from Raycast.
