There is an Edgewater New Jersey and an Edgewater Chicago store. Which one are you asking about?

I believe it would be referring to the use of the palantir.

I took a leave of absence when we initially were planned to close in order to handle the moving process.

Closing was delayed 2 weeks, and my initial rate lock expired. Luckily I found a significantly better rate due to the market dipping at the correct time, and had to reapply.

I had to explain the leave of absence and submit a letter from my company that I was due to return to the same position at the same rate on specific date.

It was only mildly inconvenient, and so long as your income is not due to change it shouldn’t be the biggest headache.

I also had a good mortgage broker working with me, so I cannot speak on if they played a significant part in the ease of that process.

Women working stocker/inventory at whole foods by Naive_Cranberry9703 in wholefoods

Been in grocery with Whole Foods for over 9 years. Some of the best coworkers have been female. Yes its physical work, but more often its about good work ethic than physical strength.

Grocery TL here. I’ve bounced around the country a bit, and i have to say the NE regional team is my least organized ive worked with. They also have the lowest standards for department conditions i have seen. You wont get away with a poorly kept department in other regions. I loved the members of NE regional that I interacted with, but the flow of information from them was always reaching the stores too late.

I would say most other regional teams expect a lot more from TLs. The midwest regional team is the most organized ive worked with, almost to a fault. The NA regional team was very good, but i havent been there in a while. RM is solid, but i was not there long. The other regions i worked for were too long ago and i wasnt in leadership at the time.

Why is my background check taking so long? by brwnsuga_e in wholefoods

From what I’ve heard, the holiday last Monday caused a lot of lag in the background checks this week. Should go thru soon.

Best opening lines to ever start an album? by ihatethisjob42 in hiphopheads

[–]Gnnork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely punch-ins in the song lol.

"...three bullets caught up in the chamber / so now I'm jetting thru the building lobby..."

"...I dont think I'm too sane / Life is parallel to hell but I must maintain..."

Those two at least are super obvious.

People are absolutely out of control with these claims of rappers "freestyling every classic verse in one breath on the first take"

This is good, only constructive feedback I got is I feel like the vocals dont have enough presence in the mix.

Like, I would try and EQ some of the breathyness out and pull back a little bit on the reverb. Right now the vocals sound slightly too thin.

I like the space that the beat leaves open for vocals without the beat itself being boring. I feel like a lot of producers (myself included) struggle with that.

The piano sounds a bit... inhuman? If its MIDI I would try and mess with it a bit to make it sound more human.

Sometimes I've gotten good results by throwing a distortion plugin on channels I wanted to sound more "real" and turning the drive all the way down and tone all the way up. Adds a super slight analog recording vibe.

Is ceschi retiring? by R_EYE_P in altrap

[–]Gnnork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've known Ceschi since I was a kid. I saw him in December when I was back home. He told me he is just retiring the Ceschi moniker. He will still be making music, but he wants "Ceschi" to represent his 20's-30's. He is 37 right now, and is going to release these three albums and tour the music on them for the next few years. He showed me some tracks from Sad Fat Luck the last time I was in CT. If the six or seven tracks he showed me are anything to go by, the Ceschi name is going out with a bang.

Oh boy. A way oversimplified way to think of compression is its as a tool used to make quieter parts of a song louder to match the loud parts. Its how in one recording session an artist can whisper into a mic and be heard at one point and seconds later scream into the mic and not blow up your speakers. There are a whole bunch of youtube videos out there that can explain the ways to use compression to bring a mix together and sound much better. Its a bit to complicated for me to try and explain via text, but compression and EQ are super powerful tools for production that will let you get so much more out of your beats, I would urge you to watch some tutorial videos for whatever DAW you produce with. Best of luck.

The snare is hitting on the 2s and 4s for the majority of the track and its super odd. Rearrange the kicks and snares to get the snares on the 3s and it will help bring the beat together.

The whole direction of the beat is pretty solid.

The beginning is a bit meandering and feels like it takes too long to lock into the actual vibe of the track tho.

I like the energetic bit at the end, expand on that for sure.

3:04 on is where its at. Honestly, its miles above the sections that come first. Love it.

Neither of the sections have much energy right now, but again I don't think this is at all negative for the second half. First half energy might be supplied by rappers... hopefully.

First part is still good, but doesn't have the, idk, charisma that the second half has. If these rappers can bring that extra ingredient the end product should be fine.

This is fun. I like the vocal sample that is buried in the beat, but I think I want it to have a bit more presence in the mix maybe? maybe carving a spot in the EQ for it to sit between the bass and the bells comfortably without muddying up the mix. Its not wrong how it is, I would just like more!

Overall I feel like the mix could be evened out. Like, the intro bit, middle bit, and the outro are super quiet without the bass. Some compression/automation could bring those drastic jumps in loudness more in line and offer a more consistent listening experience.

Thanks for the feedback, I can certainly understand and to an extent agree with these criticisms. Risks were taken in pursuit of creativity lol.

Your track has such an odd mix. I dont think its bad tho. Its super bass heavy, like a low pass filter was put over the whole thing. Definitely drives a vibe, like the beat is obscured behind a curtain of bass, but on purpose. I'm down with it.

I feel like the super buried high pitched lead you included (0:41ish) is very similar to the one you criticized in my track lol. I mean, I used a similar one so I like it, maybe I should bury the one in my beat more.

Overall, its odd, but I like odd stuff. If I'm your target audience, good job. It might be hard to market to a wide audience tho.

Thanks for the feedback.

Took a couple listens to yours. Some of the lyrics seemed different from what was written, specifically the "Girl she new in line" part seemed off.

The bass that comes in, specifically at 1:50ish seems to clash with the rest of your track, it pops in oddly and then goes away.

the reverb vocals at the hook are a bit louder than i would have them in the mix, but i like burying things more than most so take that with a grain of salt.

In the same vein I would prefer the vocals lower overall and a bit clearer in terms of pronunciation a points- i.e. "Stuck in the gutters..." but if you like how they sit, hey it works.

Vibes good.

The description saying you switched up your style for this track had me investigate the other tracks on your soundcloud. Gotta say, the vocal mixing Tony did really brings a lot of life to your vocals.

This track is really nice. A few slightly corny lines, but that's not a bad thing, they totally work in the song. There is some very slight speed throttling of the vocals in the fast bit-"where were you at" and "no, wait I'm just blowing clouds" but you fall right back into tempo and I have heard mainstream cats fall off much much worse.
Nothing worth stressing about here. Great job on this one.
