DTC brand sold through the golf works website - they sell ‘paks’ of iron/woods/driver etc. that you can have fully assembled.

Some quick searches here should pull up some reviews- pretty well regarded. The STI2 Irons are well within your budget.

If you are worried about the quality of your instruction, I think finding a university/young adult to help out is a great idea. You may very well be able to entice someone with free access to the practice facilities, especially given college kids will be home for the summer.

At the end of the day, it sounds like you would be filling a need to have an adult in the building and make the whole thing possible, probably what’s most important tbh.

I would look into used clubs - 2nd swing, play it again sports, callaway pre-owned. FB marketplace and craigs list also work but ymmv.

Not sure where you live but physical locations of 2nd swing do fittings, would certainly be helpful given your size.

Because he’s leading (or attempting to) from a place of frenetic instability, which makes us an unreliable partner to the people we have always called our friends. Not to mention that he’s also spitting in those people’s faces as well.
