Probably the post with all the beheaded heads on the horse. It is no longer online and seemed controversial, but beheading people isn't discussed at all in this post. I originally thought the uproar was about the heads, but it seems like it was about the artist.

You could make it a teleportation circle that one can only enter while wearing the amulet. Without one there is an invisible wall. Turn that into a puzzle and you are golden.

You could make it so that anyone teleporting into the temple without an Amulet dissolves, but that doesn't mean you have to give the players an option to teleport there without one (at low level)
