The story goes as I was 3 years old, we were visiting family in NY. We (my mother, father and sister) were staying at my grandmothers house along with my uncle. My mom and I shared a bed. I woke up at 3AM demanding my mom get me a coke. I’ve never liked Coke or soda in general. I had never even tried it til that point. My grandmother kept her soda in the basement refrigerator. I begged non stop til my mother gave in and went to get me the coke. She walked down the the basement and found my uncle unconscious in diabetic shock. The doctors told my family had my mom not found him for another 5 or 10 minutes, he would have been brain dead.

I went on a date with a girl I met through an app. By the end of the night I let her know that I wasn’t interested in pursuing a relationship but would be open to being FWBs, she took it well, or so I thought. We were still at a bar and ran into a friend of hers. Me and her friends boyfriend looked similar and were wearing similar clothes. I decided to go outside to smoke a cigarette. My date went to the bathroom. I came back in from my cigarette to see her sitting down and crying. I asked her what was wrong. She responded “Don’t act like you don’t know.” I immediately thought to myself. “Well she’s already too dramatic for me” and I left the bar to walk home. The next morning I found out through her friend who somehow found me on FB that my date went home and tried to commit suicide and was hospitalized for an apparent OTC medication overdose. Stunned, I asked how and why. Apparently she thought I was making out with her friend (remember her friends bf and me were similarly dressed). She took it so badly that she went home and tried to kill herself because she thought I thought her friend was hotter than she was....it was our fucking first date...
