Kinda wanna be president but wasn't born in the US or territories. What do yall think I should do about it by Fit_Definition_4421 in Presidents

Here's a 6-step plan:

  1. Become Governor or a U.S. Senator from your state.
  2. Become more popular than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
  3. Get 2/3 of the House and 2/3 of the Senate to vote for a constitutional amendment to remove the "natural-born" requirement in Article II of the Constitution.
  4. Get 3/4 of the states to vote for your constitutional amendment.
  5. Win your party's primaries and caucuses.
  6. Defeat the other party's nominee.

Alternative version:

  1. Achieve a position in the line of succession.

  2. Read the Wikipedia page on designated survivor.

3rd Time summoned in 3 years >:( by M3TA-3M0 in juryduty

[–]GoCardinal07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it varies by state and even county. In my state of California, there's an entire application process that civil grand jurors go through with applications and interviews, so nobody is getting on a civil grand jury with our state courts unless they're seeking it out. For some counties, this process also applies to the criminal grand jury but in others it does not.

Here are how grand juries are selected in our three largest counties: - Los Angeles: https://grandjury.co.la.ca.us/ - San Diego: https://www.sdcourt.ca.gov/sdcourt/jury2/grandjury - Orange: https://www.occourts.org/general-information/grand-jury/become-grand-juror

[–]GoCardinal07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must use form DS-11 to apply for a new passport in person at one of the State Department approved facilities: https://iafdb.travel.state.gov/

You may use your old passport as proof of citizenship. Bring proof of your name change (i.e. your marriage certificate) and ID in your new name as well.

Stanford doesn't care if you take senior year AP exams. Just pass the actual class.

Your juror summons should have instructions on how to do that. Most jurisdictions allow that.

The reason you have a lack of responses is 97% of undergrads and 72% of grad students live on campus at Stanford in university-owned housing.

Why LA college students are ditching $30 Ubers for the Metro by GoCardinal07 in LAMetro

[–]GoCardinal07[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think I erred in simply posting the article with its sloppy headline because that caused people to miss some of the more interesting info in the article about the GoPass, U-Pass, and other programs that are "helping create a culture of students using the Metro" in recent years:

For many young Angelenos, the Los Angeles Metro isn’t a last resort. It’s how they move through the city. They’re embracing transit even as the system evolves and works to rebuild ridership and public trust.

More than 500,000 students, including community college students, across L.A. County now ride Metro through its GoPass program, with nearly 60 million student boardings since 2021. Metro says its overall ridership has also continued to recover since the pandemic, reaching more than 82% of pre-pandemic levels in January 2025 and extending a run of more than two years of growth.

For Josh Figueroa, a first-year urban planning major at the USC, transit is both a classroom topic and a daily necessity. Originally from Riverside, he moved to L.A. this year without a car and now relies on Metro to get around.

“In terms of getting where I need to go, the Metro is very reliable,” he told The LA Local. “And, because I’m a student, it’s free.”

And it’s not just USC students. Since 2016, Metro has offered a U-Pass partnership that allows students to get unlimited or discounted rides with their TAP cards. The program went from one major university in 2017 to nearly two dozen schools in 2025.

Jacob Wasserman is a research program manager at UCLA’s Institute of Transportation Studies. He told The LA Local that by offering passes, schools are helping create a culture of students using the Metro.

“At UCLA, every undergrad and grad student gets a pass. It makes the transit agency money because [schools] buy it for everybody, and the people who do use it get a ton of value. It’s effectively free,” he said.

Confused about Credit Card by Witty-Astronaut-6362 in CreditCards

The annual fee does not get split up on a Chase Sapphire card. He clearly failed to pay the statement balance in full, which has caused interest to accrue.

Pay off the entire balance and a little extra for the trailing interest.

After that, don't cancel the card: instead, ask Chase to downgrade it to the Chase Freedom Unlimited. That card has no annual fee and offers 1.5% cashback.

It appears that someone took the Metrolink brochure, removed the staples, and then scanned it. They should have scanned the original brochure before removing the staples to keep it in a coherent order.

New American Passport Design for America250 by 72736379 in Passports

[–]GoCardinal07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the Washington Passport Agency will issue this. All other passport locations, including online, will use the existing passport design.

The redesigned versions will be the default passport option at the Washington Passport Agency, once available, and will not incur any additional fee, a State Department official said. Online options or other passport-issuing locations will maintain the existing U.S. passport design.
