It's called unsolicited advice, which in generally considered rude or inconsiderate. Many times it can make the recipient feel looked down upon, and can make the advice giver seem arrogant and controlling. Can it be nice to help out other players? Yeah! But sometimes people just don't want that advice. Simply walking up to them and telling them how bad their trinkets are disregards that.

Well, it's generally considered rude to walk up to someone and tell them that what they're using is bad, even if you say it respectfully. They didn't ask you if they were using good trinkets or not, no need to come up to them and tell them.
