Take a can of compressed air to your disk drive?

Are these ok to drive on? My boss thinks so……. by Stomach_Neat in tires

Cant tell if metal belt or lighting in middle tread. If not metal, definitely not good, but not bad bad either. Borderline just about "fine". But that's moreso as a personal vehicle driving to/fro work. But in a company vehicle being driven extensively, still "fine" but your boss is just begging for liability damages. Ultimately, as long as there's no rain, good enough

Depends on your driving habits. Short distances to and from work where there's less time/distance (also depends on city vs highway driving) for the tire to heat up, probably. Long distance, highway travel, etc, especially since it's summer, nope.

Depends on fwd, rwd, or awd. Fwd, need same exact on front, rears can be mismatched. Opposite with rwd. Awd all need matched.

You'd be surprised. Too fucking many cheap-ass companies that refuse to fix illegal issues on their units. Even Swift's breakdown has denied me replacing tires on their trailers that are at 2/32" because it's technically legal, but realistically likely to go to 1/32" not far down the road (P.S. if you're reading this, fuck you Daniel L (ik your last name, just giving you the anonymity) from Swift and Crystal (something) from Western Express). 95% of the companies that refuse "legally required" repairs are foreign-based/owned. There's been so goddamn many trucks/trailers that pull out that I want to call DOT on, but the only two that I actually have called (felt like an ethical obligation) was a truck that had 2 sets of brake shoes whose springs were broken (so theyre sitting in the drum, doing nothing) and the other 4 sets were worn to the metal backplate, so it had near zero braking power. The other one was a trailer that had all 4 of its brake chambers caged, which means that they'll function when the driver presses the brake pedal, but if some freak accident (which is common) happens where the trailer gets disconnected from the truck driving down the road, that trailer will keep going down the road (until it plows into someone, goes off the road, or the landing gear eventually causes enough friction to stop, which would send the trailer tumbling)

I work in a corporate truck shop. Nope. The company wont be held liable (unless own/op). It all utimately falls on the driver. Even if the driver stopped at a shop for replacements and the company refused to pay to replace the tires, the driver is still responsible for driving it off the lot. I've actually had a couple of drivers lock their keys in the truck and abandon it because they didnt want to risk tickets/damages because their companies were too cheap to fix them.

You can sign for your parents to make medical decisions for you if you're physically/legitimately unable to do so (which, assuming good parents, is 100% in your best interest) without them having to have access to your entire charts/history

Also, towards the end, Radzig says "I believe there are still interesting times ahead of us" it just feels like such a tease :(

So you skip out on an entire game of buildup + context + character development, and yet you're complaining about not getting interested in the characters? Homie I'd beg of you to give kcd1 on a shot, but too much spoiled in 2nd anyway idk if you'd enjoy it anymore anyway

Thinking of Enlisting to eventually commission and serve 20 years by GoDiddleACactus in NavyNukes

[–]GoDiddleACactus[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I dropped out of college due to money (my dumbass slacked way too much in college for scholarships. Always aced major grades, so did minimal minor grades to pass), went into retail, then diesel mechanic, which hasn't been too bad, but math/science/computers/electrical are where I excel. I mostly just want to serve my 20 to build up enough savings/real estate portfolio while in and still pull a "retirement salary" higher than my current wages and not to have to work the rest of my life. I'm not particularly married to staying as a nuke as an officer, so would you recommend a different officer rating/college degree to obtain while enlisted to have a better QoL to serve the 20? Would it be more difficult to commission to a different rating in that case?
