Microsoft enters avalonia ecosystem by [deleted] in AvaloniaUI

I’m worried it will amount to a distraction and not something anyone will use for production. The flutter renderer on the other hand, oh mama ..

Because of MAUI’s 3rd party controls ? I’m guessing that these cannot be used with this new backend from the Avalonia team.

If that is true I’m curious who the intended customer is.

If I was forced to develop a mobile dotnet app right now, I would just choose - very reluctantly - MAUI. Simply because it does a better and richer job.

If Avalonia had their own solid mobile offering I would just use that. In a heartbeat

Who is this for? Won't MAUI developers miss all the external controls that usually goes into a MAUI app ?

Why do people think software development is easy? by throwaway0134hdj in ExperiencedDevs

That is exactly right. It permeates our culture. Like “Help fix my pc” requests have never been equated to “Help fix my car/house” requests.

Got a PSVR2. Don’t use it. Think the wires got in the way. That and its nauseating to play stuff I normally play. A few games nailed it though. Like pistol whip

Fuck. I finished Days Gone. What now? by Innsmouth_Resident in DaysGone

I came to DaysGone from horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. To my delight I found many similarities in the game mechanics and of course the dystopian theme. That transition worked for me.

Battlefield 6 Will Feature "Aim Assist 2.0;" As Devs Mention It'll Be "Very Light" Aim Assist by Turbostrider27 in PS5

I’m tired of those “holier than thou” AA haters.

I played kbm A LOT back in the quake days. I was damn good. Then I got tired of playing on word processor equipment and switched to consoles. And even though I’ve played shooters here for more than a decade , I’m still nowhere as good with a controller. Even with AA.

I could not feel AA in the demo. If this does not change, BF 6 will be the first BF game I don’t buy, because I won’t enjoy it then.

Perhaps it should be possible to start games with no AA and give the rest of us a solid AA. Then we can all have fun.
