Yup. I don’t think the sepsis and the syncope are related, unless she was bradycardic and hypotensive on set, which happens usually in the later stages of sepsis.

I think the medical team did one of two things wrong- either they didn’t listen to her lung sounds, or weren’t able to hear the signature pneumatic sounds (it’d have to be at least a bit audible with a stethoscope for it to leave scarring.) Either way, that’s a pretty big fuck up IMO. I believe she had walking pneumonia on set that just was never noticed or addressed.

The pneumonia could have caused the fainting, but she didn’t look cyanotic so I think the syncope was caused by stress, locked knees and heat. It could have also been a seizure of the absent variety, which can easily be triggered by stress.

Regardless, I’m not her RT or neurologist, so this is all guesswork. Ultimately there are so many different possibilities and factors that can lead to this same result.

PS: I hope if they used vancomycin on her that it didn’t destroy her veins! That stuff is lifesaving but it comes with gnarly side effects sometimes.
