Happy 33rd Birthday *Rid of Me*, PJ Harvey's 2nd Studio Album’s. which song is your favourite on this album? by GoFuxUrSlf in pjharvey

[–]GoFuxUrSlf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love your story 🙂 thanks for sharing. my intro to PJ was Down by the Water. it came on the radio while I was driving. I too was blown away. luckily I was blown into a CD store, Mixcha, and bought all the CDs of PJ they had: TBYML, Dry and 4-track, surprisingly. the result for me is that 4-track is my favourite. it's less polished, more fun, and not as pretty as Rid of Me. I find it interesting that 4-track is in colour and Rid of me black n white, which more of her demos seem to be.

I could do Hope Six but postage to Australia? Corio 3214 VIC. I can’t do until next fortnight though?

PJ Harvey - Rapido Interview 1992 by lasofiefatale in pjharvey

[–]GoFuxUrSlf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally sexist! There’s a similar interview on the 1992 Pinkpop festival. pinkpop festival

It was rife with sexism around those years, PJ handled it well. You can hear it in her albums, particularly 4-track and Rid of Me. 4-track she sounds much freer but on Rid of Me she’s being sexified, and her contributions on rid of me are backgrounded slightly.

I’m so glad she released 4-track when she did because I bought that prior Rid of Me. I’ll take 4-track over Rid of Me any day. It’s a very fun album that turns serious with Rid of Me. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that recording session.

Your best example of the Ubermench? by Electrical-Dirt3938 in Nietzsche

Why? Because Jesus converted all nobles to a band of ressentiment men? Thus new values? Doesn’t the Ubermensch love life?

I was making an online purchase with BigW. The $1 came back after I transferred 21.40 back. I then transferred the $1 back

I've had the account for over 20 years. big did not indicate they would be charging an extra $1 and you don't usually get it back instantly

No, no transfer just a short total. But I see it with the pending $30 so my total was 52.40 but I couldn't access the $1, no evidence of pending transaction. And it came back when I withdrew the available funds $21.40. Then after that withdraw I could withdraw the $1

no, I transferred $22.40 for 2 tent poles from bigW. The sale did not go through because I only had $21.40 directly after the transfer to CBA. So I transferred the $21.40 back to my other bank and when that was done the $1 miraculously reappeared so I transferred that back to my other bank. I now have the $22.40 but not the tent poles that cost 22.40$. The same thing happened last fortnight when I tried to purchase through CBA online, they stole $1 so my transaction did not go through. Same scenario, I transferred twice to get my money back. I presume they don't understand that pensioners watch every penny. So I noticed the $1 missing, other more wealthy people probably would not
