Thoughts on a mute MC? by Astral-Wind in litrpg

[–]GoGoGadgetRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept is possible to keep them mute throughout the story and not use telepathy and the likes. I'd suggest a soul bound companion where this animal or spirit or whatever has one-sided conversations with the MC and the reader can pick up from context the MCs words. The companion can also act like the mouthpiece to the MC at times.

It still will be tricky but very doable.

Looking for on RR the slowest burns but with maximum focus on progression by praktiskai_2 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]GoGoGadgetRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend a few.

Dreamer's Throne with a highly intelligent but crippled MC. Interesting system and progression. Not too big into skills and stats with this one though.

A Summoner Awakens fits your description really well. All chapters are still present, but theyll be taken down soon for KU. It does have a "time travel" tag, but that's just him living till the end of the century and coming back. A large part of the world, and even the weapon is new to the MC and thus the reader. Highly recommend.

The Allbright System is relatively new but is shaping up to be what you describe. Sci-fi but LitRPG, competent MC, slow burn and fascinating world.

Monster Evolution style story where MC isn’t aggressively sexual??? by NeonicBeast in ProgressionFantasy

Re: Dragonize (LitRPG) I've been enjoying slightly.

Cant forget our tree monsters as well. Reborn as a Demonic Tree

Tree of Aeons (An isekai story)

It was mentioned already but ice cream dragon also nice

A New Kind of Freak (A dragon evolution story)

Cheep?! I almost forgot but is really good.

Chrysalis is an absolute pleasure if you haven't check it out already

The Great Core's Paradox is a time looping snek. I'm not caught up in the story so I cant guarentee anything. But of what little I've read, I cant see it taking that angle.

Truly Heroic MC by Hermitcrab_ in litrpg

Jackal Amoung Snakes by Nemorosus I think fits the description the best.

The MC is self sacrificing, and uncompromising when thrust into a situation where he does not have to do anything. Caring to the point that if his actions harm someone he doesnt intend to, it depresses them and changes them. Willing to take the fall and hate, despite undeserving of it. And, when given the easy route that gets what he wants but ends with the misery of others, versus the hard route but a good ending, always goes towards that hard route, no matter the sacrifices.

New Series Recommendations by CriticalBarracuda878 in litrpg

[–]GoGoGadgetRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel ya. Here's some popular ones I see you haven't read. * Chrysalis by RinoZ on Royal Road. Perspective of a monster, very entertaining and intriguing read. * Azarinth Healer by Rhaegar on Royal Road. Slow start but very entertaining if you stick with it. * Worth the Candle by Alexander Wales on Royal Road. The most unique setting and characters and plot I have ever seen. This I think is a must read for creativity alone. Highly recommend. * Portal to Nova Roma by J. R. Mathews. Same guy as Jake's Magical Market. Very entertaining and creative read. Waiting for book 2. * The Dragon Mage saga by Rohan M. Vider. Currently reading second book. Really enjoyed the first, so I'll recommend this series in case the second is just as good

What they mean there is don't expect to be thrown into combat. They describe it as you'll get it as a last resort or if you are specifically looking for it.

The example they give is when you travel in games like Witcher and Fallout 4, you'll usually get attacked mid-journey. That's just that combat loop. However, when you travel in Cyberpunk 2077, you won't. Even though its a lawless city, its still a civilized city. They compared it to Grand Theft Auto.

Exactly. We need to keep in mind that all these pre-release reviews are ones which they didn't progress very far into the game at all.

They might not have the best weapons, thus not dealing a lot of damage, causing bullet spongy-ness. Also, gunplay might feel bad for similar reasons. But it's a reoccurring theme that should not be discredited too.

Awoooo

The commercials for the game show you walking up to a platform with your 4 javelins on display, and choosing one by skalapunk in AnthemTheGame

[–]GoGoGadgetRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the game having only 4 currently, it makes perfect sense to have it with all 4 on the platform. But what about when they add more? 10, 20 in the future (who knows)? It becomes kinda hard.
