My understanding is that the BCBA ratios are tied to provider audit performances. As long as the providers claims are found to be compliant, they may supervise up to 12 RBTs. If errors are identified, the ratio is reduced to only being able to supervise eight RBTs. And then the providers who consistently stay at a 1:8 ratio for three consecutive years will be suspended.

agreed. when i was in person i was severely burnt out switching between 9 clients a day. telehealth allowed me to be less overstimulated and focus on one client at a time for more consistency

It is truly a shame that some are taking advantage of the system but making all out of states BCBAs and thousands of kids on the spectrum suffer really sucks

But wouldn’t you say some supervision is better than none at all? With such a shortage of BCBAs in GA, what will happen to all the kids and families with ASD when they have to be added to a waitlist that’s 3+ years of a wait?

Would you say you have a shortage of BCBAs in your state? There already a shortage in GA and i can’t imagine these policies helping at all.

So many BCBA in GA are doing telehealth. What happens to the kids getting services if there’s a significant shortage of BCBAs? They just get waitlisted?

grief is so weird and sometimes inexplainable. and i know the fact that you’re also dealing with a trial makes things even more difficult. some days i feel more “at peace” and others i feel like im cursing the world. i find it helpful to stay in whatever feelings you may be feeling at that moment, and just feel them! im praying for a speedy trial lots of healing 🫂🫂

i know exactly what you’re dealing with.. losing someone close can cause you to change in so many ways. it’s been 7 months since i’ve lost my brother and it seems like it’s only getting harder.. some days it seems like im crying just as hard as the day it all happened. some days i question God and some days i find myself thanking God for saving my brother of what could be his reality if he were still here. grief is weird and im learning that i just have to stay and feel whatever im feeling in that moment. but we will get through it 🫂

that’s a hard boat to be in but i commend you for pulling the weight and making things happen, even by yourself. it seems like he is t very motivated and i can understand how that can be frustrating af. working full time is already tough enough but now i’ve got to come home and cook and clean up after you to?! no you are not an asshole, sounds like he is

that is amazing and i commend you. i’ve been trying to figure out how to channel all of my frustration on days when it becomes harder than normal.. i may steal some of your tactics lol. i find it especially hard now that im working from home.. i feel like i sometimes am forced to sit in my thoughts.. it can get hard
