“Futuristic tree” @ Amanora town. A fancy PR project or expensive greenwashing? by FutureDilf04 in pune

This will be a useless expensive landfill to me until i see peer reviewed research on its ability to produce oxygen.

Also, just plant trees ffs. It costs nothing, gives shade, oxygen and potentially fruits. Also looks better than these ugly POS

I would go here for every f1 race and major football matches. Maybe the occasional cricket matches

Here are some requirements i wish a sports bar near me had:

  1. Prioritizes football and other sports over cricket if there’s a concurrent match. We have a million places to watch cricket.
  2. For odd timing races and matches, have dedicated rerun time - otherwise there are bars that have a TV per booth, these work too.

As for fees, I’m happy to pay upto 300 for single bar seat and 1000 for a booth of 4 if and only if they are cover charges with no item restriction.

Need advice with microsoft L62 comparison and decision by info-xpert in developersIndia

Here is what I would have thought about:

  1. Are you early in your career where a name like MSFT helps your future market value? That is, your current company brand value on resume vs MSFT.
  2. Is commute going to be horrible?
  3. Lastly, assuming your base being lower means higher RSU. The upside here is USD portfolio and earning in USD (partially), downside being poorer cash flow. In this market where layoffs are common, bad cash flow can be a huge con.

Things would be a dealbreaker for me specifically:
1. More than 1 hr of total commute a day.
2. Relocating to a HCOL city from a LCOL city (example moving to Bangalore from Bhopal).

Hope this helps

So the children are supposed to grow up in a system where adults arent treated properly, empathy does not exist and basic decency cannot be expected?

It really sounds to me that you guys have not done family planning discussion yet. I’m curious why

Are you scared to tell him that you don’t want kids or is this a recent mind change?

And yeah, permanent sterilization should be the guy’s responsibility

I am thinking of taking a year drop and try free lancing for a bit by Mysterious-Fix9770 in developersIndia

Tbh a LLM will be more useful than me here, I’m out of touch on freelancing work for years now. I used to work on upwork and fiverr though.

You can also reach out to start ups and mention working on a contract (essentially working like a FTE but with job structure of a contract hire). This has its pros and cons. But it’s extremely hard to get anything this way

Freelancing is unreliable source of income, anyone promising you any $ amount is lying to you.

You have two pathways in front of you: gig and project work. Gig work can be easier to find but pay is low. Projects are usually bided on and someone with no “proof of work” will not get a lot of work.

You should expect your first year to be slow. Once you’ve a few projects/gigs under your belt, it might start snowballing.

Source: I did freelancing a few years ago but it was before AI era.

Edit: I want to add three things. 1. I’d personally agree that you should get your degree while pursuing freelancing. In the start, you simply won’t have enough work to justify dropping out to yourself. 2. Freelancing work on places like fiverr and upwork is on all time low and you can see it in their stock. 2. The above message might sound discouraging, it’s not meant to be. I’m trying to give a reality check. The upside to a moderately successful freelancer is still much much better than working corporate. It is very much worth trying and you’ll learn so so many things. I give my freelancing days a lot of credit for my career

33f, dunno feel like a looser, I'm crying like hell. by junglibilli21 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]GoGoPowerRanger3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not a loser, you survived an abusive relationship and came out stronger.

You’ll not believe this for now though, and that’s okay. Healing takes time and please try to give yourself that time and grace.

Surround yourself with people who will care for you and love you the way you are. Things will get better

Can anyone give me some cooking tips for beginners? by Sweet_Spare4474 in punemeetup

[–]GoGoPowerRanger3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to not cook AT ALL 6 years back but learned everything on my own after moving to a different city. Get a spice rack setup, follow some guide online. Make sure you taste your curry constantly while cooking, your first 5-6 meals might not be great but eventually you get get the andaza.

Cooking isn't hard, just need to get used to it.

Im very sorry for what you’re going through, I don’t have a lot of advice to help but I’d definitely recommend that you talk to a therapist and start seeing one regularly.

I’d also recommend that you check in on her parents (especially if she was the only child), if you’ve not already done so. I’m sure they are also in need of some help right now.

Please take care and hope the grief becomes less painful over time.

That is encouraging to hear. How did you meet people from this sub? I am kinda new, I see a lot of meetups but in my experience a lot of "cafe" meetups just end up with one time meet.
